I’d be interested to hear your opinions on this topic.

Right now, at the end of my prep (4 weeks out), I am of course trying to continue training progressively.

The strength gains / weight jumps are no longer at the level of the offseason or the beginning of prep.

I am now working on some machines / exercises with smaller weight…

Thanks for your feedback!

I will definitely give it a try.

I could certainly reduce my warm-up sets, especially for upper body units.

And if I do 1-2 warm-up sets, then really only 1-2 repetitions so that I don’t waste any energy on my working-sets.

Best regards,

If the muscle group is already warm from previous exercises, I don’t think it’s necessary to do several warm-up sets, as you say.

Just one set to get into the exercise and get a feeling for it before going into the working set.

I will try to reduce the warm-up sets a little in the coming weeks.

And then I will see to what extent it influences my training feeling during the sets and my training performance.

Maybe I might be able to generate more output in the working-sets and it will probably have…

A topic that has been bothering me for a while now is the warm-up sets.

I train using the HIT principe with rep-ranges between 4-12. Depending on the exercise.

I always have 6-7 exercises with 2 sets each. So a total of 12-14 working sets.

Would you do 2-3 warm-up sets before each exercise? Or would you only do one warm-up set after…
