Is it really necessary the night before a show when you might not know how it may affect you? Personally, I’d stick with familiar foods and have one of the options you were given post show. It’s only one more day out of months of dieting.</p>

First pull workout without a hinge yesterday and not gonna lie, didn’t feel right. Checked in with myself the other day and weight was 82.15kg, waist 72.5cm. Visual feedback is good as well so increased food by a smidge. On training days carbs upped in pre, intra and post. On rest days, tiny increase in fats M1 and minute carb increase M4,5,6. Best dip was earlier this week with 80kg x 1 at a bodyweight of 81.65kg.. so close to dipping myself haha.</p>
<p>Best pull-up was 50kg for 5, bodyweight around 80kg mark again. </p>
<p>When I was younger (18ish), did 10&#215;10 deadlifts with 140kg with a min rest between sets. Connection to the movements is fab and actually feel strong-ish. In my eyes I have always been held back as my left shoulder was always my crux. In March last year it was operated on to free up an impingement and shave down some bone spurs. Not sounding dickish but if intensity and execution aren’t optimal, legs will always be lagging.</p>

<p>For myself, I do a 5 second negative and 15 sec hold per rep. 10-15 is a perfect time to hold the stretch. In terms of reps, realistically you’re looking at 8-10 as TUT will be high and your calves cramped as fook.</p>

The Gym shop leg press wasn’t free and the person wasn’t in a hurry so subbed for the Cybex pivot press with a band. Some exercises aren’t worth working in on like the leg press, especially if you’re constantly loading/unloading plates for you or the other person and unhooking bands.</p>

<p>Legs on Sunday was a corker. Anyone that knows my leg training knows I absolutely detest the hack squat model in my gym. It’s the infamous Watson model. Of course I have the option to bypass it buuuuttt nah, not letting it beat me.</p>

Not sure if it’s just me, but sometimes it just feels stiff and you really have to work for those sets, almost fighting your body. Had my first day off work yesterday since the start of Jan. Felt very odd haha, but a good day. Got up at 5:20 for rest day cardio, rushed back to eat, met with a friend for tennis at 7, rushed back to do my check in, eat, prep and then picked up 9 to for a day out. </p>

If your lifts are progressing (proper standardised sets) and your composition is changing for the better, you’re doing just fine. Long gone are the days of this &#8216;badge of honour’ and crippling DOMs.</p>

Flat hammer press felt very, very good. 160kg for 5.5 reps so half a rep up and 141kg for 9 &#8211; 1kg and 1 rep up, double whammy. High incline machine press has always felt a bit off in terms of setup, however think I’ve found the trick. <p>Busy couple of days that’s for sure but wouldn’t change for the world. Very happy with everything in life right and this obviously compliments my training no end. <p>Check in yesterday went really well. Visually tighter, weight down by 0.7kg, waist down 0.5cm &#8211; tick, tick and bladdy tick. Sitting at 87.85kg so still a Fatty Mcfat fat tum haha. Still a silhouette of some abs&#8230; or flabdominals, but don’t use that as a marker. With 5 fixed days you could do a Push, pull, legs, upper and lower. Everything would be hit twice in the week but you would need to manage your variables well. It may not also be maintainable over the long run.</p>
<p>I’d probably go for a 4 day split as upper, lower. As you like weekends, maybe the following:</p>
<p>Sat: lower<br />
Sun: upper<br />

Can you specify what you’re looking for I.e. specific rest days like weekend, how many days you can train, time spent in the gym, level of experience, goals? Just makes it easier to roughly gauge.</p>

<p>Some would say the only difference is that SLDLs start and end from the floor, whereas RDLs stop at shin level which isn’t true. <p>Current split is push, pull,off,legs, off, repeat. Generally works out at 4 days training across a calendar week with every 6th week having 5 sessions.</p>
