    Need more info- pins you’re using, which sites, is your pinning regimen sterile, carrier oil in the compounds etc

    Try performing an isometric on your traps while doing your side delt movements. If you do this your traps are forced to turn off and you can get a better feel for how you should be executing the movement to keep the side delt as prime mover. Another option is have a training partner or someone at the gym hover their fingers above your traps and make sure your traps don’t elevate and touch them during the movement

    Thanks Ryan for making this. This is the aspect of bb I need to work on the most and feel a bit lost on as I don’t have anyone capable locally to guide me as I get ready for my first show this year. Are there any resources or content you’d suggest for beginners?

    Main reasons are for recovery and to maximize the body’s heightened ability to partition carbs (via glut4) in the PWO state. If you want to maximize performance, and thus results, nutrient timing is important unless you’re a non-competitor or bodybuilding isn’t a top priority. I would encourage you to experiment with both approaches and monitor your training performance from there, see for yourself!

    Aim should be to still progress. Intensity same as normal, volume may need to be lowered if you can’t meet your recovery demands and/or are not progressing. If it comes to it, Fight to keep all tissue and strength with execution constant
