True enough, mindset plays a huge part but it does help to have those inspiring athletes around for sure! Not quite the same caliber but there are a few decent level powerlifters at my gym always throwing big numbers about. 2 old boys in particular who hold UK records, always happy to offer a bit of wisdom too which is nice π

Cars are an expensive passion for sure! Probably why I never got in to it, I just like the look and sound of them! LolThanks for the insight mate, it’s good to see when bodybuilders are’t completely one-dimensional and that it’s possible to do alongside a day job too.

EVerything I’ve seen about Strength Asylum just looks incredible, just wish I lived closer, I want a gym like that! Mine’s fairly good, a bit old school and spit and sawdust but a good attitude and atmosphere πDo you have a “day” job so to speak then or do you now manage to make a living from Bodybuilding? Do you train clients or focus solely on yourself?
Seen your ST on insta and all the mods you’ve been doing, to be honest, I don’t understand any of it but damn it sounds nice! π

The eccentric loading was awesome. I made some strange noises though, to the point that when I finished the set with a “fuuucck!” a mate asked me if I was alright and if I’d hurt my back?! hahaha
That makes sense, we’re all a little uneven anyway.
Thanks mate, appreciate it. I’m sure it will go well (so long as it goes ahead!), positive mental attitude, patience and a drive to get back to training at full strength again will get me there. I’m curious regarding Anavar as a choice, I’m sure I saw on one video JP mentioning being against orals? Or have I got that wrong there?
Currently not enhanced but researching anavar it might be a good choice for me post-surgery on my shoulder once I get back in to training. What are your views?Do you worry about toxicity at all and what precautions do you take?

I’ve seen your back, it is INSANE. If you can get that kind of thickness and definition without deads then I’m never gonna argue with you on that point!
I did hit some eccentric loading rack pulls last night as part of an Upper session. Was supposed to just be regular rack pulls but after reading your comments yesterday decided to give eccentric loading a go, wow… the lower back pump was incredible as was the burn but it actually felt pretty good and this morning I’m not in any kind of pain with it like I sometimes would be before.What’s up with your left arm that you can’t feel a connection when you train?
Jay Cutler struggled with chest?! There’s hope for me yet! I will start playing around with my pressing and see if I can figure it out once I’m out of rehab from shoulder surgery I’m supposed to be having on Friday. :S Lifting has to stop for a short while!
Chelo Kebab, just looked it up, looks incredible! One recipe though suggested a 9 hour prep/cooking time! haha definitely a weekend job that then! Will have a go, thanks for the recommendation!

Sounds daft but what exactly are you foam rolling? Not your lower back directly I hope? Unlikely to help too much and I’ve noticed that most people who do this tend to hyper-extend the lumbar region too much while on a foam roller, something I was once guilty off and it didn’t help matters at all!
Gentle stretching and mobility exercises for the back.
Foam roll glutes and hamstrings – this instantly eases up my lower back every time! Especially the glutes, hurts like buggery at times but well worth doing! Take your time with it π -
Back is my favourite to hit π I find I can get a really good connection when hitting it, can’t get the same with chest though for some reason!
I like the idea of controlled, eccentric loading deadlifts, might have to try this myself as my deadlift is dodgy due to my lower back being fucked. Quite bad degeneration π 32 years old, lower back of an old man!Look forward to seeing the session.
