Carbs in a pre workout meal would be perfect for energy and intra/post workout for recovery. Like I said though, the overall calories in your diet will dictate whether or not you lose or gain, not where you place your carbs and fats. This will come down to how active your lifestyle is, where your energy requirements are needed most, what you perform best eating before, when you’re most hungry, when you go to sleep etc.. etc. Use your carbs when they’re most needed and more fats when you want to slow digestion to keep you fuller and have less energy demand.. have some meals with both if you like. An excess in calories will result in laying down bodyfat, not having carbs and fats in the same meal. So long as you are hitting the required amount of overall calories, you can place your carbs and fats wherever they suit you best throughout the day in whatever meals.

I’ve found I feel the same with too much veg. I usually have a small amount with last meal and 3rd meal usually from either asparagus, lettuce, cucumber or peppers
