I did update my log yesterday but it didn’t seem to update.. Had a whirlwind 2 weeks as i had to pull out of the British for financial reasons so rather than waste a prep i jumped into a show 8 weeks earlier than planned with less than two weeks to get as tight as poss.
First 10 days i went zero carb, just meat and veg with a little PB on my chicken in two meals. Two days pro/fat and then two days carb loading.
Show went ok, didn’t do great which i knew would be the case and got penalised heavily for condition and not rewarded for any other aspect which is frustrating esp in men’s open BB.
At least i got some stage time and got in a very good position as the next aim is the Arnolds in September which gives me 16 weeks this weekend just got with a quick regional before.
I didn’t binge at all post show, had half a pizza and that was it, straight back to my plan with an increase in food as i had been running zero carb so couldn’t go straight back to that. Which now sees me only 5lbs up from depleted weight.
Food now is:
Pro – 320g
Carb – 350g
Fat – 50g
Cardio at 20mins.
i go on holiday at then end of the week for my wedding anniversary so i plan on enjoying that and then getting straight back down to business as not being peeled is not an option for the Arnolds.
couple of pics from show day and two days Post.

i went to hospital a couple of months ago and the doctor/Nurse was incredible.
Arranged for me to have my full bloods, clotting, ECG, chest x-ray and even had the head of cardiology come and ultrasound my heart to make sure everything was normal before he let me go home.
It helped that i had maintained my bloodwork privately and could show them my previous results.

Hi Cal,
When i read/listen to some of you clients talk about their diets ect it seems that you opt for a macro based approach rather than outlying their exact diet, am i right in thinking that?
When it comes to prep do you prefer to still adopt this approach or do you specify everything? and what are the pros and cons of this method?

Check in went well yesterday and decided that we will just aim for the British with a qualifier 2 weeks before so that leaves 8 and 10 weeks respectively to come in legit.
Drop back in clen to 20mcg just for the next couple of weeks now we aren’t pushing an earlier show.
Solid 5lb drop this week and definitely feel it, flat as hell but we keep pushing through.
Rest day today

Hit my lowest weight of prep so far this morning 233lbs and feeling much tighter again so i am looking forward to seeing how the look is on Sat.
Still cannot get my show plans nailed down.. it may turn into a mini cut which would put me in a very good lean position but I’ll see. Typical that my holiday falls a week or so before some shows i would have been ready for and would have liked to do but when you have kids you have to plan around that so can’t always do what you want but it is all part of it 🙂
Legs tonight and looking forward too it.

I have some how developed an intolerance to coffee.. i took 3 weeks off coffee and was absolutely fine. had half a coffee yesterday and my god it caused me digestive stress and nausea, i was even sick at one point.. On top of that the increase in clen felt like i was having heart flutters so caused my anxiety to go through the roof so that is back down now.
So training was meh, cardio was meh but still got it done and woke up at lowest weight yet so all in all not too bad day.
Today is non training day so just work all day, head to gym for cardio, go home, work on my own company work and then call my daughter as it is her 13th Birthday today… it sucks living 4 hours away from my two eldest but i always try to make the most of it when they come for holidays.

check in day today as currently checkin in twice a week at the moment. Visually leaner since sat and things starting to change daily now which is always a good point to be at.

Session was:
High incline smith x7, x 15
Incline hammer press x8, x12
Machine press x10, x10
Standing side raise x15, x15
Pec dec x12, x15
cardio – 45mins

Woke up 1kg heavier today (237lbs) after rest day yesterday but feeling much tighter.. body weight doesn’t seem to be dropping too much but the look is getting better by the day.
Added in an AI yesterday EOD so this should help pull some water off and improve the look. Just going to keep pulling it all off and see where i land.
Looking forward to chest and delts tonight

Check in went well yesterday. 5lb drop since Tuesdays check in and visibly tighter all over.
Cardio upped by 5mins so now it is at 45mins ED and food has been dropped.
Today is the first time I’ve felt hungry all prep which is always a welcoming feeling as I thrive when it gets difficult and my body will respond well.
Macros are now at:
TD 303g Pro, 355g Carb, 59g fat
NTD 293g Pro, 269g Carb, 47g fatInstagram: @adamedw4rds

So 2bros announced that the British is going to be an open international pro qualifier which is a huge shift in direction. At first i was a little disappointed as the point of a British is for the best of the British to compete for their own national show but on the second hand if it means going up against some good competition that’s better.
I will still have to see how i look once I’ve pulled right down before I am dead set on doing it, if i am competitive to challenge for the top spots I will, if not it will be a rebound back out, make some improvements and jump in towards the end of the year.
My rear has come up massively so it will be good to see how that looks either way.
Legs last night was a good one followed by 40mins Incline treadmil which i burn around 460cals.
Calves x 15, x 15 drop 5
Seated ham curl x12, x12
Smith Squat x9, x12
Pendulum squat x12, x 12
Leg ext x10, drop set 12,6,5,4,3,2,1
Adductors x 15, x 15 (nursing a groin injury still so had to use a standing adductor machine thing)

Hi Oscar, thank you for popping in! hopefully another couple of weeks and i’ll have something relatively decent to show.. I’m intrigued to see how the look differs from last year that is for sure.
I hope you are keeping well!
