No offence taken buddy honestly I am super appreciative that you have even taken the time to give me the information you have.

I can certainly say the info you have provided me in terms of 2750 cals on working days and 2000 on rest days has worked well this week.

I started out at 196.8 and today weighed myself first thing and appear to be down to 195.2. I will keep monitoring this and make reductions whereby necessary OR even stick to the same cals when I hit a ceiling but perhaps introduce some cardio, once cardio on those cals no longer works perhaps dropping 100 cals or so on each figure may then help to continually shift the fat.

I am intending to use re feeds once a fortnight as I haven’t really tested this much yet. And due to my High BF% at current I think once a week wouldn’t prove very useful. Once I become leaner and become more sensitive then perhaps I can introduce it more frequently.

I do fully agree with you in terms of there is no one glove fits all, everything is just generalised and guidelines, really it does all appear to be trial and error.

thanks for the information guys. I don’t mean to try and just leech all of this info for nothing but unfortunately am not in the best financial situation to being paying coaches at this time :/ just trying to get some generalised opinions / guidelines. I appreciate all the responses people have taken the time to do. especially jdh 🙂

I’m not great with these terms does test mean testosterone. I’m fully natural atm and havent touched any drugs. Would the affects on me be warranted at my current training stage

When you guys say deep deficit what kind of reduction In cals would I be looking at and how often to perform cardio. atm my maint cals are 2750 as I have a sedentary job. also would my cals be different on rest days vs working days

What do you mean by aggressively.

Currently im eating maint cals on training days (2750)

and on rest days (2000) so carbs are much higher on training days.

Currently I am cutting through deficit mainly and haven’t thrown any cardio in yet.

Hey, I wouldn’t say this is my first attempted bulk I have made attempts in the past but haven’t gained a ton of muscle size it anything more fat has added on top I’ve never been at lvl of seeing abs so have more than likely gained fat rather than muscle. I also wouldn’t class myself as skinny fat

Even though I don’t hold an awful lot of mass ? am I right in saying bulk over 20% is counter productive to mass gain in terms of muscle as your hormones are more honed into fat storage instead?

    BUMP

NOTE: I don’t have a ton of mass, But at the same time I think being in a surplus at 22 – 23% BF would probably be foolish.

I don’t want anyone to give me a diet or training plan just advice on a direction. I feel like I roughly have the diet / training aspects covered.

My head is telling me to get leaner before embarking on a proper lean bulk. I am contemplating getting to between 12 – 15 % and then starting a lean bulk.

very informative i really really appreciate your feedback, right … time to get my fitness journey to a kick start for real! my next goal is to lean down to 15 – 18% bf which I think is very realistic. currently sitting somewhere around 22 – 23 I think bulking at this stage would be foolish as I’m more likely to hold fat rather than muscle ????

thanks for your advice, I’ll definately give it a shot, is there any sort of formulae / calculation to use for working day calories and rest days? or is it trial and error. how do you know how far to drop on rest days, and does similar logic apply when bulking or are calories pretty much the same when in a surplus ?

So maintenance calories on workout days and 750 cal deficit on rest days ? will that have any sort of adverse affect on recovery ?. You are also correct I don’t have a ton of lean mass as per my profile pic but I feel I need to get in a healthier bf% range maybe 15 – 18% and then look into lean bulking once I’m leaner

I am currently using bulk powders multi vit which you use 3 times a day typically breakfast lunch and dinner I hear they are better than your typical 1 a day tabs, is this true ?

Would anyone happen to know if bulk powders greens powder is good or can anyone generally vouch for whether bulk powders products are of good quality.
