SHBG is out of range – 57 is upper limit.
I’d be suspecting some form of insulin resistance at that number if its not being driven by estrogen.

Estrogen / estradiol was at 64pmol/L

How would you go about lowering SHBG?

with a long aycting insulin like lantus or levemir, this would be even worse because its working around the clock. if you are using a short acting insulin, you can at least eat fats the first part of the day (if you are training in the afternoon). also, the use if a long acting insulin is pretty unhealthy because it puts your pancreas to sleep. the use of long acting slin not something i personally would recommend unless you have a very experienced coach (like milos). i know that jordan also doesnt like the idea of using it.

    This sounds ludacris to me.
Do you have science to back up the fact Long acting insulin puts your pancreas to sleep lol ????
I do agree fats should be kept lower but insulin main job is to shuttle carbs. Fats sill be stored as fat no matter what by the body as we are always producing insulin when eating Normal combined meal. Just less than what we inject.

This is exactly what I was thinking… Correct me if I’m wrong but all lantus does is basically act as a “boost” to your own production of insulin as it is slowly and steadily released through 24 hours…?

Also, how much fat would you consider to be a good amount if using lantus? How low would be too low and how high would be too high?

unorthodox could be anything with a little twist to make it differnet lol
    check cody Montgomery
I saw him doing db laterals with the dumbell tucked between his biceps and forearm .. arms bent to 90 degrees and lateral raising like he was in a seated machine… that’s unorthodox lol

Lol completely agree!! That is the definition of unorthodox later raises! Unless your Phil health and can do pretty much whatever the F you want and still grow, I would stick to basics and progress

I would stay natural and get bloods done to see where test and estrogen levels are at. Then if test is low for some reason I would look to run a test only cycle and go from there. Just my opinion and what I have done

consuming fat with moderate/high doses of insulin is probably the best way to make you fat in the shortest time possible, esp. if you are in a decent caloric surplus. it will also slow down digestion and therefore absorption which is the total opposite of what we are trying to do with slin. small amounts of trace fats are not a big deal but i personally wouldnt pick a meal with more than 5-7 g of total fat in it if was going to use insulin.
yes, fat will slow down endogenous insulin release but thats because fats slow down digestion/absorbtion and your body will react accordingly with insulin release. if you are using exogenous insulin, you always want fast digestion food, otherwhise you can run into blood sugar issues!

Would this make a difference in the type of insulin? Say a long acting like lantus or does this only apply to fast acting like humalog?

Can be either normal or a sign of Type 2 diabetes.
Assess FBG in relation to the insulin number and get SHBG checked too

Ok thanks guys. Definitely going to pull back on it as I have noticed a decrease in strength which I could only assume is due to low estrogen . Felt better before taking it too

Depends on dose and timing. If your dieting hard natural t3 will drop so you keep it at a baseline of 25mg by supplementing with 25mg. Some need more to bring their baseline up. If your smashing 50, 75 100mg then yes Definitely can be catabolic.

What do you mean by timing. How would timing affect it being catabolic?

What are the benefits of dhea anyways? Wouldn’t exogenous testosterone increase these levels ?
