All in theory… but would also be interested to hear anyone’s input who may have more knowledge on this matter

Would depend on the above, which will theoretically be determined by what dosages you take and how much of your tissue has been built under super-physiological hormone levels – your ability to retain muscle will be based on how quickly natural hormone levels can be re-established which is person dependant but is likely to slow down as you continue to disrupt the HPTA by cycling. `

Just wondering James – what were your prerequisites in terms of ending the cruise and increasing dosages again? Any particular health markers? Or was it just a case of setting a general length of time for recovery.

If it was me and it continued, personally I’d see a GP for sure!

Blood pressure? The acute response to training I would assume could be a factor.

It’s something I’m always interested in hearing about because its a HUGE consideration of mine also – especially not being in a situation where fertility is presently a ‘priority’ but it will be at some point in the long term future which does raise question marks for me!

Of course it will, as Dr Dean said with no HPTA function spermatogenesis does not occur hence 0 sperm count. Which is why majority of bodybuilders in their 30’s who have been using long term often have to run self-medicated fertility protocols or go to a fertility doctor I would assume?

HCG & HMG protocols seem to be the trend at the moment with regards to fertility protocols..

Not that I know much, but I would suggest that’s a good place to start looking.

The question really should be is anything full stop ‘necessary’ to turn pro? I think otherwise it’s just implying that all pro’s are entirely reliant on supplementation to reach pro level development.

I think it’s visibly very clear what pro’s have had to push the cards and who hasn’t, I think we’d all be VERY surprised at how little and how few substances the hyper-responders at the elite level have taken. So echoing the above, whilst genetics is so broad a term it really does play such a huge role.

Also worth mentioning that there are many natural IFBB Pro’s, so I am guessing you are referring only to open bodybuilding?

What does your cycle consist of?

You have to try and identify the root cause of the gyno, high aromatization is just one cause.

Nolva should help if the gyno is oestrogen related, but as I said – without having blood readings you are simply guessing and without giving any context to your PED use, body composition etc it’s difficult to give any more specific advice.

Hypothetically if high aromotisation was the cause, decereasing your dosage of testosterone & supplementing with tamoxifen should subside nipple sensitivity and reduce the likelihood of any more tissue build up.

I think making further progress naturally is relative to what tissue you accrued whilst on cycle. Any muscle you gained with a ‘super-physiological’ amount of hormones in your body won’t stick around for long (in my experience). As mentioned above, to what extent you could begin attaining muscle mass after your hormones have been re-established after your cycle would be very dependent on what level of natural testosterone you can sustain & your genetic predisposition to build muscle.

‘Maxing out’ our genetic potential takes a hell of a lot longer than a lot of people would assume & to put a ceiling on progress is naive really, but what I think a realistic assumption to make is that this natural ceiling could quite possibly be reduced if our natural hormone production is damaged by the use of exogenous hormones.

All of course in my personal opinion!

Sorry mate – I meant how long do you plan to be in this particular phase of pushing up & gaining tissue before potentially cruising/tidying up? Or is that something that you will be auto regulating based on health markers, body composition, training performance etc.

You must be confident that’s a pretty big jump in LBM though from where your body comp is at!

What’s your plan with Cal in terms of duration of this phase?
