it needs to be accurate, I had one on my phone that would count steps while I was driving as that’s what I do for my job, so it would be way off

morning Jordan, for as long as I have ever read your log for I don’t think I have ever seen you put a decline bench press in your exercise choice, is there a specific reason for this? And are you still wearing your waist trimmer if so have you noticed any benefits from it? still loving the site keep up all the good work mate!

hello Jordan enjoying reading your logs still!! I picked up a while back you said you take as much rest inbetween sets as you need to, so you can give the maximum effort on the working set, but personally I always thought my intensity came from me not having a break inbetween sets well minimal load the bar/machine and then go with the next exercise, am I wrong in thinking this I know my progressive over load would still be in there of course but I’m just thinking from a hypertrophy stand point would I be better waiting an extra couple of minutes, after been on this site am questioning if I have ever known how to train correctly at all I’m 23 so trying to just grasp everything and make sure I’m not wasting my time

    Curt it’s not silly , I’m actually

Happy , as most people think the opposite , and want to do more and more sets to failure . Now you could potentially just leave it there , your right , but I would say it depends on your frequency your training at. 1 set does yield a lot of stimulus , but at some point you need more ( not much , but defo some) . So let’s say after a year of full body work , doing just 1 set every other day, you then move to upper lower , this is where 2 sets would be more beneficial and a necessity because you have more muscle and because you can’t make big adaptive responses from just one set. Why do I go lighter ? – potentiation , basically . Heavy weights then make light weights feel REALLY light , so after a 5-9 , a 10-15 I can then use a little more load than if I did it fresh , because my muscles are so primed to work. Hope that helps

yes that did answer what I wanted to know perfectly , I just didn’t want to be doing sets that are wasted and on the other hand wanted to make sure doing 1 set to total failure was enough work load as I’m sure in your early days you would have thought well that one set doesn’t seem much and it can fuck with you mentally some times haha , but thankyou for the in-depth reply greatly appreciated and thankyou for all the content it helps me and others out more than you could know mate!

alright Jordan, I have been watching some of your videos on how to program push pull legs there awesome! you said some movements are for it loading and others are to squeeze the muscle and get blood into it e.g. bench press and then flys which I understand but what’s the purpose of doing your working set to failure and then doing another set but with lighter weight if failure has already been achieved on the first set, sorry if it sounds like a stupid question I was thinking if only one set to failure and then leave it there would mean recovery would be better just wanted to see your thinking behind it, thankyou!

not much info to go on really mate, you will be best off putting your meals on so the athletes can advice you what’s best and if anything needs to be changed it can be, eventually you will always gain some fat if your trying to pack on muscle but are you at a stage where doing a mini cut would benefit you to get rid of excess body fat or are you 2weeks into your off season and pushing to fast
