Firstly, don’t beat yourself up too much about the rebound. You’re clearly self aware, so take some learnings and understand how you can better manage the post period next time out.
Re training, as the gang have said, you might find you benefit from the double rest day. As an alternative and something that I think will keep you well refreshed, a nuance on that might be UL R U R L R then back to start of sequence.
It might be that you feel the two consecutive rest days give you something extra, my personal preference would be staggering them, but a good opportunity now for you to try and gain some understanding of how you respond.

I have since got my nutrition in check and feeling much more confident going forward
Recovery is still a little ropey at times, really feeling it some days. I do feel as though I’ve got everything pretty much nailed on so think I do need to trial an extra rest day
Would the above routine still be sufficient volume with an extra rest day ?

Personally not a huge fan of carrot cake. It is not terrible, but I started off with Custard Cream and that is really really good imo.

I’d get a full comprehensive panel done. If you’ve never had a blood test before, it’s worth checking to see where everything is. It will give you some base line figures to compare to later down the line too.
If you can get to see Eval in person, then they’re a great company to go with. Alternatively Youth Revisited are an online company who can arrange a local phlebotomist to come to your house to take the bloods for you and then you send the vials off to be tested. Their Competitive Athlete Blood test is the best one for a complete analysis.

How about the rate of gain Rich? Would you advise differently for natural ?
