Rest day today for me and really needed a day of minimal activity as body felt very tired. Had some deep tissue work done also.

Priority here should be getting it seem to and finding the cause of the pain and fixing it if severity of pain is that bad
-
It’s very hard to advise on anything like this without seeing body composition- knowing more about nutrition leading into show and also as hilly has stated it’s something you really want to have trialed.
Personally only ever used lantus purely because of the high amount of carbohydrates needed for me and even then it was minimal. -
Surprisingly happy with todays push session as wasn’t sure what I’d be able to do with my arm but had no issues pushing- only thing I couldn’t do was dumbell press as couldn’t flick the weight up as it’s sore to do any curl motion.
Kept everything really controlled with 1-2 reps in reserve as didn’t want to risk anything

Rest day yesterday – had some localized cryo on my brachialis, not sure how much it helped but no harm trying.
Training this week will obviously be all over the place and very much based on assessment day to day of what I can do.
Should have been push today but instead did hams & glutes. Tomorrow I will try do some push but will just be feeling out what I can do.Update on cpap machine- sleep quality has drastically improved – now sleeping through the night and waking up refreshed
-
I don’t think anyone here would ever suggest anyone take a cycle regardless of age- this is a personal decision that should be made only when you have all the information regarding potential health implications etc and then weigh up risk vs reward
-
Being your first cycle mate absolutely no need to over complicate it- get bloods done first for reference- start on just 200-300mg testosterone (I’d start 200) get bloods done again at 6 weeks and based on where testosterone is and how you feel- performance etc can always increase to the 300 at this point
-
Update on arm – no damage to the bicep but a partial tear in brachialis which isn’t too bad- felt much better today, still sore to touch the area but general movement is ok now unlike yesterday. Can’t lift any weight or anything with it, picking up a bag or anything is painful.
Legs today with Jamie and the muscle doc, awesome session and really went in on it.
Did hack squat for first time in months and worked up to a decent set of 7pps. -
Pull session didn’t go as planned today- first exercise in tbar row machine felt a pop in my bicep, luckily Jordan shallows (muscle doc) was there and did some assessment on it and the bicep itself is fine, it’s damage to the brachialis, how bad won’t know for a few days but just following his lead with it now. Did 4 more movements just with my good arm to get some blood moving then spent the day icing it every hour.

Would really need more info here to advise- stats, previous cycles etc

Yep totally agree with Meg here in regards to getting into good habits with your pre bed routine.
Also check that the room is dark and the right temperature for yourself and avoid the blue light from your phone in the build up to going to sleep. All the standard stuff.
I do have a serving of Halcyon with my dream sleep each night 20-30mins before going to bed and that combo has done wonders for my sleep quality.
If you are doing everything correctly and still struggling you could look to have a sleep study done. The cost of these has dropped in recent years, can be done from home and will give you a better answer to why you’re waking up so much.
I’ve done all of these things including a sleep study and still have very disruptive sleep. Is there anything else you think I should try?[/quote]
Did nothing show up in sleep study? I was the same as you and it was due to sleep apnea.. now I use cpap I sleep through the night -
Another very solid push session today highlight being hitting 5.5pps on prime shoulder press for 6 which is heaviest I have ever done, going to try get this for 6 before revisiting 5pps and try get over 15.
Training feeling really good at the moment and body is responding quickly.
Sitting at my highest weight now of 265lbs and body composition hasn’t changed much from the low 250’s -
Finally seem to have found a chest focus push session that clicks- last week I switched out prime incl for smith incl and this is feeling so much better.
Last week managed 3.5pps on smith for 6 and today 11 which I was really happy with and knock on was all other movements progressed in reps also.
Obviously my weight going back up to 265 again after dropping to 253 due to stomach ulcer will be helping too. -
If still feeling effects from Covid then I’d be looking at just getting back in with reduced volume and not to fail
