Dieting and competing has cost me my marriage mate, hang in there and focus your pain and hurt into becoming the best version of yourself. If your with someone who doesn’t understand your passion and drive then maybe it’s a blessing long term. Time is the biggest healer with this situation.

Hi mate sorry to hear that. Yea it’s pretty fuked up to be honest

Taking a break can help big time with this – I went through it myself and I will admit I was in a very dark place indeed. Went away travelling and it totally healed me. Good luck mate and remember that pain is temporary!

Hi big p. Yea. Heads still 100% focused on gym and diet

If your passionate about this sport and it brings joy to your life, you will find someone who supports your goals and lifestyle.
If this is a product of lack of support and understanding for the lifestyle then the problem would only have kept recurring.
Now you can move forward and in time be much happier ????????

Hi Jamie. Yea. Like I’ve just said earlier. If people don’t like me for who I am, what I enjoy ect, fuk them

my partner competes too and we can get on each others nerves, only lived with each other from the end of June as we finished shows and then getting used to everything and a mortgage over our heads whilst starting prep for later in the year…
Some days its been pretty brutal as with work stresses and other family life – sorry to hear its over – I think a backwards step, go away for a night somewhere, clear your head, climb snowdon! Ive done both with crazily good eye opening and time to think, we cant escape reality neither should we try to – but stepping out of our everyday shoes to take a second without the internet is the best thing ive ever done for mental health, family, work and personal life!

Hi Reece. It’s just a case of knuckling down and staying focused which I am, I think it’s a case of if people can’t except you for who you are and wat u do then fuk them lil

Hey bud. Really sad to hear you’ve broke up. I’ve been through tough times with my partner on prep but fortunately not broke up… it is hard and you do begin to think can I keep ongoing but you have and that’s awesome. Be proud bud. The thing is the regimented diet the training and the goal being reached can give you the focus you need to keep your head in the game. You can do this mate. Stay strong and don’t give up.

Hi Dean, I have personally experienced this and it was probably the hardest time in my life. I had to try and turn my emotions off and focus on the show or I would never have pushed myself to get in shape. Especially when your losing someone that has been there for you through the process before. It can be devastating at times I know. If it’s meant to be it will be if it’s not then just try your best to focus on the goal at hand and push towards that.

Samaritans lol made me laugh haha
I’ll be your Samaritan bro. Prep is very hard at the best of time so going though a break up is even worse.
You will never be perfect and a lot of the time you will be tired and short with people just try your best with your partner to be understanding of each other and remember that competing is a choice so if it’s that bad, is it worth it?
If you’ve actually already split up then best thing (in my opinion) is to cut all ties and try to move on. Prep is quite good in this sense as it gives you something to focus on and work towards – take the attention away from the breakup.
Ideally I would stop speaking to the person as that negativity will just ruin your prep. But if it’s Prep ruining your relationship and you don’t actually want it to end, then you need to reassess your priorities.
    Hope that helps mate.

Hi mate. Thanks for that. It’s done and dusted mate unfortunately. I’ve finally had a rest day from gym today. I’ve trained 16 days straight with out a day off because my head has been that f#*ked up. But still managed to hold the diet together without cheating or caving in.

Are you saying that your dieting is causing the relationship breakdown or that you’re already going through relationship issues and therefore finding dieting more difficult?

If you aren’t dieting for a set date, have you thought about having a diet break and bringing your calories back to maintenance whilst you’re going through this period? Dieting and going through a stressful personal situation can’t be easy and you won’t be able to think or act rationally.

Oats and egg whites will give you a little more volume.. Or change your meal to something like Beef/sweet potato/green veg.. Salmon/rice/green veg… Omelette/green veg… etc… etc.. Plenty of options. Remember dieting isn’t easy. You WILL be hungry and a lot of your posts are looking for easy ways to do this, but in reality there isn’t an easy way. If you want to get into decent condition a lot of what it takes is sucking it up and dealing with it I’m afraid.

I know mate, but it’s part of it. Tell yourself that if you’re hungry, you’re burning fat. Switch your focus from food to something else and stay busy. My video about Dealing with hunger may help give you some tips.
