Personally i had the same problem, couldn’t train legs twice a week even when volume was dropped to 1 set per exercise. Now i’m training legs every 6th day and it’s going great. Just my 2 cents.

I do 4 sets on tuesday and 3 sets on saturday and it works for me. Last year i did 6 sets on tuesday and 5 on Saturday and it was too much.
