Push yesterday. Had two days off as I was very fatigued to the point where I couldn’t even check my mirrors in the van as from my hammys up through my errectors and back of my neck was ruined and ached to move.

I never really had a “deload” or diet break any of that as I never thought I needed it as I was progressing lifts every week and would push through any fatigue. But the last two weeks I haven’t progressed at all and even lost reps on my second set of most exercises with same weight as before. Wasn’t an easy decision as I enjoy pushing the limits every session but my friend who coaches me and looks over what I do said it was needed.

Even had an off plan meal as he said I looked like death 🤣 He was right. I needed both the rest and off plan. Woke up tighter, lighter and fuller. Absolutely mind blowing for me as I’ve never had an off plan. I probably won’t have another now until I’m ruined sometime next year lol

Push went as follows

Ex1: incline dumbbell x 9 x 14
Ex2: flat machine press x 12 x 16
Ex3: nautilus shoulder x 8 x 12
Ex4: pec dec x 15 x 20
Ex5: lateral x 8 x 12 x 17
Ex6 overhead tri x 8 x 12
Ex7:Tri push down x 13 x 12

Plan from here is to have a 6 week diet break where I go up to maintenance and run 150 test for 6 weeks before assessing where we are and pushing up again.

Reason being I have just done my first cycle of 200T 200M. Pushed up 52lbs and mini dieted and dropped 20lbs. I’m now 22lbs up after 24 weeks and a leaner than I was to start

Hi Ethan. Good to see you starting a log on here. I can’t see any pictures, but sounds like you’ve made some good progress so far. It’ll be good to follow along towards your first competition.

How are you finding juggling work and bodybuilding? Have you figured out a good routine?

Hi Clare,

To be honest putting them side to side is probably the best decision I have made. Sounds boring but all I do is work and train for the last two years.

I like to stay in routine it makes me feel comfortable in that I’m doing as much as I possibly can to improve both my physique and my business.

Sometimes as always I have curveballs where I need to work extra hours and sacrifice a few hours sleep to fit in my schedule, even though it’s probably more beneficial to have a rest day as recovery is important but I feel like if I miss a training day or go off plan at all I’ve just ruined the whole progress I’ve made over the last year🤣 sounds silly but I just hate not doing everything in my routine

My day to day goes as follows

7am-8am – fasted steps
8:30 – 6pm work (usually in office at home)
6:30pm-10pm gym + cardio (with travelling 20-30min each way
Last meal 10:30
Sleep by 11:30

Repeat

Monday push

First time logging the day, almost forgot already. Been flat out with work lately starting my own business over the past year and also trying my best to continue to improve my physique. It’s been a very mentally draining challenge but I’m happy with how I’m progressing in both aspects, got to take the positives!

So push:

Warm up: Cable y raise x3 (love these)

Ex1: low incline dumbbell press
60kg x 7
50kg x 11

Ex2: high incline smith
2.5PPS x 6
2PPS x 10

Ex3: Flat nautilus machine press
3PPS x 8
1.5PPS x 12 (was absolutely tanked by this point)

Ex4: pec dec
55 x 16
40 x 15
40 x 12

Ex5: DB lateral drop set
17.5kg x 12, 10kg x 15
17.5kg x 10 10kg x 13

Ex6 Hammer curls ( I like to do these on my push days as I have 0 gas in the tank to do triceps so thought why
not do biceps on push and triceps on pull, seems to work for me as arms have come up massively since 🤷‍♂️)

20kg x 18
15kg x 20
15kg x 12

Ex 7: cable curls

18kg x 16
12.5kg x 10
12.5kg x8

All done at this point and feel absolutely thrashed. I can only just recover from this but may have to adjust volume slightly as I enter a larger deficit as I carry on this cut. But until I’m absolutely fucked and can’t recover I’ll keep it the same.

Finished off with 35 mins stairs which was absolute hell.

Alarm set for 7 to get steps done before work.

Thanks for the replies everyone, taking it all on board.

I might even start a log to keep accountable on the reverse out of this diet phase

Really appreciate it

I would have no issues having a client do this for there first cycle – it will without a doubt be more productive Thant just 300mg test IMO.

The only reason I usually prefer people to do test only or at least start the cycle with only test is so I can get blood work done on say just 300mg test and gather the information of how they actually respond to test on its own for future cycle design.

Have you got pics and a reason why you think you actually ‘hold water and stuff’

Hi mate,

Tbh I think I just have a bit more fat to take off but this is the current shape at 94kg 5’10

I’ve jumped into the deep end the last few weeks going 250pro 0carb 78 fats so I’m looking and feeling as flat as a pancake that’s why I think I look a bit shit compared to when I was a bit heavier, vascularity has disappeared and so has the fullness but it’s part of the process I’ve been told 😂

Im not in no rush but I want to get growing asap as I’m hoping to compete before I’m out of juniors but I’ve got another 2 and a bit years until I’m too old

Thanks for the reply
you look to have some very good muscle mass for age bud and a very good structure.

I would want you a chunk leaner before you looked to grow personally however there is no reason why you cant do that on the initial part of the cycle
Thanks appreciate that

To be honest I’m just slowly dropping the weight until I am lean enough, I’m hoping that’s around the 87-88 mark but if it needs to be lower I’ll carry on lower

Cycle wise I’m really looking at using a full 24 weeks purely to grow and put on 40-50lbs. Do you think I’d be better doing that or actually using the first 4-8 weeks to cut down leaner and then the remaining 16 to push weight up?
