Totally understandable Jordan, I think in any sector, it’s always unprofessional to overpromise and then subsequently under-deliver.

How is your weight faring this week?

Also, just wanted to add. I do sometimes wonder if people get confused because they get weak/bunk gear. Probably not, but I’ve heard of underground stuff coming back with as low as 30% of the advised dosage, which makes it more difficult for somebody to trust a moderate dosage.

That doesn’t make sense, even from a common sense perspective. If the guy acknowledged you’ve grown that much, that he’s asking how you did it, surely he didn’t need to recommend you take way more.

Credit to you for being both smart and sensible with your goals!

Just wanted to add Veela (hope you don’t mind Dean), HPA axis dysfunction can be a big cause of chronic sleep disturbance. Essentially, due the stresses of modern life, full time jobs, nutrient depleted foods, excess sugar and toxins, lack of down time, our nervous system finds itself ‘on’ and in a fight or flight mode too often, and over time can lean more and more towards this by default, finding it harder and harder to switch off and relax.

I would consider assessing your training regime, is it too much for your body to recuperate from? How is stress in terms of work/home? What stress management do you perform? Deep breathing and mindfulness can be life changing for some individuals. Also try to keep blood sugar balanced, reducing excess sugar in the diet (without comprising on muscle building).

Supplement wise, magnesium can speed up the clearance of catecholamines (via speeding up of COMT) and can reduce cortisol, so many find benefit using this for restful. 4-600 magnesium citrate or glycinate can be fantastic and has helped me tonnes. Another good one, but is less talked about and more expensive is Phosphatidylserine. This is believed to help the HPA axis to become more sensitive to the stress hormone cortisol, and hence inhibit its output by the adrenal glands. Regardless of its action, it has been proved to reduce cortisol levels significantly. Then best reviewed PS tends to be the supplements which are conjugated with DHA and I’ve found them to be effective. 3-600mg a day can give a nice calming effect, which can translate to improved sleep. It also can aid memory and cognition, so handy all round!

I’ve had a little look around online, and there is some belief that a small dose such as 12.5mcg may be low enough a dose not to supress natural thyroid output, but indeed to ‘add’ to what we have naturally.

This is why I love this forum/site, I’m constantly learning new ideas and concepts in terms of nutrition, drugs training etc. and we get to interact with some of the best bodybuilders in the UK (and indeed world) and pick their brains. There’s nowhere near enough scientific studies being done to validate all of this knowledge about drugs and what’s optimal for bodybuilding, so that’s when somebody like Sas can provide his honest opinion and his experiences, which often proves more valuable than what science has to say.

Agree with Rotties, whatever you guys do works and it works damn well. To quote Phil Heath in Generation Iron ‘it ain’t all talk, when you’re on that stage man’.

    Sas,

I’m sure Rotties will respond with his thoughts, but the general belief is that adding any amount of thyroid meds will start to lower your natural endogenous output, so that no real benefit will be seen from a small addition. In the same way that injecting testosterone will decrease our natural endogenous output, to the point we see no benefit from doses below our own natural production.

Is this consistent with what you’ve found, or do you find a noticeably benefit with 12.5 added?

    Jordan,

Given how much you’ve dropped this week and where you’re at weight wise, I’m assuming your condition is better than you’d first suspected for this soon into prep? Which would definitely be a plus!

Are you going to see how the prep progresses and pick a show accordingly? Do you feel you’ve stepped forward as much as you’d hoped from the last prep for Korea, or is it too soon to tell?

    Jordan,

Appreciate lots of variables have changed, but a a few days into your last diet you were 273lbs, so I’m sure there’s been some solid tissue added!

Also, letro is very powerful, I bet that is pulling water out at quite a rate.

Very exciting Jordan. Did you ever take calliper readings of your ‘fattest’ sites? Thought it would be an interesting comparison, given you’ve got to around 20lbs+ up on last off season.

An 11 hour time difference is no joke bud! I remember flying back from Las Vegas and that’s only an 8 hour time difference, was a serious struggle. If you’re finding it hard to reset your circadian rhythm, consider using melatonin if you have any to hand.

Even if you manage to sleep enough over a 24 hour period, you will generally feel jet lagged for at least several days, as the body’s natural ability to produce melatonin at the correct destination time is disrupted. 1mg before your usual bed time should do the trick. Less is more with melatonin, as our bodies would make closer to 0.3mg than the 1-5mg usually sold in supplements.

Given the switch to test prop, and using ‘dry’ compounds such as mast and tren, I’m assuming the letro is to keep water retention to an absolute minimum, to ensure changes in body composition are as easy to identify as possible.

That being said, letro is a very strong compound and with 350mg test, it does seem a little overkill. I’m sure Jordan/Stefan could lend some additional insight.

    Hi Sas,

Notice your weight seems to be staying around the 250-255 range quite consistently at the moment, are you finding you’re going through a stage of ‘recomping’ at the moment; where you’re almost ‘growing into the show’, following a more relaxed off season on diet and drugs?

When do you think it will start to really come back down again, after the initial 10-15lb drop?

    Eymen
