just seen another post where luke says you have to train them hard and heavy in the off season so they grow like any other muscle would- ie calorie surplus and training. then when you start leaning down they may well be more visible at higher bf% levels if theyve grown enough

thanks, thats what i was after, a better opinion than my own haha. would you mini cut or do a full slow cut?
-
thanks rotties, yeh unfortunately im slow for muscle and quick for fat. so conservative approach it is!! cheers
-

in 3rd wk of a 4wk mini cut and dropped a rep or two in a 1-2 sessions last week. so will gauge this wk incase of an off day. so retaining strength thus far. then am going to reverse out of mini cut.

rotties thats what i mean, added a good amount of weight and strength but not much actual tissue by time diet down, so shall i gain slower equalling less fat?
-
so my last gain period was 14wks gaining roughly 2lb a week, is that deemed fast or slow? as i still feel i just gained mostly bf. is slower than 2lb any better or shall i just bite the bullet and push my weight up past a certain threshold to elicit new gains.
-
oops, was meant to say natty, and also not new to training. thanks for the reply. so would you say its better to gain slower to allow me to gain for longer?
-
thanks guys. yes Louis thats my trouble, i have never really committed to a bulk. im at about 20% bf now so probably time for mini cut but gonna keep pushing up i guess after.

mainly trying to gain muscle mass. have been training for ten years or so but never gained much mass and never committed to a bulk. i was wondering whats best for hypertrophy gains tbh.
