Deadlifts went well tonight! At the minute the theme seems to be touching weights your not familiar or comfortable with and I’ll tell you why this works!
A lot of the time it’s not our physical capabilities that fail but more our mental capabilities and the action of the CNS.
New weights = scary and CNS says no.
Having confidence to approach and lift new weights even if the form is slightly off and the rep range is low will bypass your mental capacity to perform that lift.
Then simply progress from there and once you step back to your previous top set you will demolish past numbers!
Having had lower back injuries for many years and not being able to perform hip hinge or posterior chain loading movements my mental capability on pull day suffers more than any.
220 deadlift went up tonight, a light weight to some, for me a milestone and a new bench mark to crush????????

could be totally irrelevant, but the first time I used EQ about 1-2 weeks in I woke up a rash all over my body (arms/legs/neck/face) so I dropped the eq and within a few days it disappeared

ThNks man it’s gone down a bit today so fingers crossed it was a weird reaction to something.

Big man, how has your appetite been?
And what happens when your appetite DOES start to fall off mid offseason….best to just relax at that stage for a bit?

Hey man appetites been low for a few months now, daily struggle brother. Backing off isn’t an option for me.
As Jordan would say, the meal starts and the meal ends – get the job done. We’re bodybuilders and we have no choice but to eat and continue to increase surplus as our body decides.
Try adding in some am cardio and light cardio between meals and even changing food sources. Bagels are easy to eat and relatively high carb for the amount of food rather than a bowl full of rice ????????
My prep workout outs I blend as well. In prep when I’m starving I’d obviously flip that, more volume of food the better and nothing blended.

Jamie what are the first signs that you spot when it comes to decreased recovery? Does soreness factor into this at all?

Not soreness as such, tiredness more so and probably a level of ache more than soreness. Progress can also start to dip.

Woke up with some rash all up both arms and legs ????
Not sure what it is, looks like every rash on the internet lol
Couldn’t have had an allergic reaction to my burgers or cookies unless my bodies had enough of being fat haha

Start with no cardio and then add if results stall or you need things to speed up ????????

Hi mate. I’m 20 week into cut. I started at 30 mins cardio then 40 then 45 but then brought it down to 30mins. But never realised how many steps I was doing some days it’s around 38000-40000[/quote]
Now it’s in man you’ve pretty much set your bench mark. What’s your cut for, how long do you have left. Pictures would help to determine where you’re at.

I would use start of cycle to recomp on same food as cruise maybe add cardio and then improve for 4 weeks ready to push things up.

    Session was
    Lying ham curl
    Smith squat
    Leg press 1 set
    Leg ext triple drop
    Seated curl rest pause
    Adducter 3 sets
    Seated calf 3 sets
Sets not stated 1 work 1 back off
As you can see volume is lower at the minute as recovery is down regulated due to the body weight and the energy demand just to get used to being mobile at this weight for the first time.
Plan is to sit here for a good few weeks now, get slightly more comfortable then push volume slightly.

    Session went
    Cuffed lateral incline bench
Pec dec only managed one set but couldn’t go near as heavy as normal so that was a fail
Smith shoulder press reverse banded to help stressed position
Incline bb press felt ok but effected poundage
    Tricep rope push down
    Shrugs
All 2 sets unless stated. Nothing less than 10 reps tonight for safety also
Plan now is to rest up and see how I feel, maybe next push session I will skip and then hopefully be ok.

So push went down and was limited to say the least. I switched session around to try and help but it was still aggravated. Some deep tissue and even some shock wave definitely in order!!
    ASAP

So seem to have picked up a little niggle a few push sessions back right in my pec/delt tie in.
It’s stiff and aches, not so painful, more discomfort more than anything.
Gonna get it tonight in push.
