What’s up people. Rest day today & also check in with Cal. Bodyweight down a little to 246.5lbs which surprised me as was feeling HEAVY lol – AM blood glucose and BP all looking good too.
30 mins cardio, 15 mins steps and then usual life shit the rest of the day with food shop etc. A couple of admin jobs to do on the laptop today and some TV but that’s it. Early night of the cards!
Team photoshoot for the next clothing drop tomorrow so will be making the trip to The Shed, will train there also 💪🏼

Take aways from the answers above, is that it’s really person dependant on how battered you are. I’ve had cardio removed in the past, but other situations I’ve also had it kept in by my coach depending on where I’m at etc – You’ll have to refer to JP’s fucked-o-meter, if you’re proper fucked, remove it.

Great session thanks Jay – was good to play around on some of the Hammer Strength kit – first time I’ve ever used the pull down and chest press from the DY Blood and Guts videos and they just hit differently.
Does the Shed have similar equipment to your ‘base’ gym or will you improvise like you have to whilst on the road.

Yes, my base gym has got very similar kit apart from the custom bits Jord & James sorted. That’s why I find it so hard to venture from there because it has everything and more than I could ever need. If you’re ever fancying a road trip to Wales I highly recommend! It’s called Planet Fitness (Tredegar is the location as there’s another one 30 mins from that) 🤝🏼

Afternoon guys! Wow I am battered today again lol
Legs yesterday, back in there for 7am to train Pull today. Happy it’s rest day tomorrow! Earning them right now that’s for sure.
I’m doing a lot of single leg work on Legs right now, I’m not sure if I’ve got a niggle in my knee or it’s just regular leg doms paired with driving lots. Probably be able to tell by Tuesday, hoping it’s not so we can still keep pushing as the last few weeks has been spot on.
Plan for today: NOTHING. Makes a change! Sofa surfing and a Nando’s on the cards then back to RD food tomorrow and actual rest ready for another week 🙏🏻👊🏼

As the lads have said above, insulin pre-workout but I’ve never seen anyone doing it post. With GH, I’m currently splitting mine between pre-workout and pre-bed: 2iu pre and 4iu bed 👊🏼

Good to see everything moving in the right direction even with your crazy schedule Jay.
Caught the new YouTube vid this morning – off season 5k cals, another good watch and I recall all to fondly when I was competing in strongman that last meal of the day was always the hardest to get down.
I’ve got a days leave tomorrow so taking the trip over to TBJP X SHED Gym, I’ve been before but looks like there is always new equipment arriving in there so buzzing to have a ‘play’ on as much kit as possible.

Morning people. Happy Halloween!
Back on home soil finally, early part of this week was a mission tbh. So glad to be home for multiple days before going anywhere else lol
Training has been wicked tho as I forced that extra rest day, everything jumped dramatically yesterday. Note taken for my over-training self there!lol
Body still sitting at 248lbs and feeling pretty good. BP and BG levels all holding nice too so I’m in a very good spot!
Filming some YouTube today and also another advert for JP, those of you that saw the golf DNFM ad it’s on a similar page 🙈🤣

Good morning from Liverpool guys. Had a long & busy day yesterday, combined with a bad shot in my quad last night I was an absolute mess. Early night and decided to stay in bed later today rather than train at 6am.
I’m off to Manchester to shoot for the day so taking a rest day, back home tomorrow so will crack on from there. Forcing that training session this morning would have just sent me over the edge I think. Frustrating as I wanted to get a session in at Nathan’s gym but it is what it is!
Looking forward to getting today out of the way, drive 4 hours home and then get back to business!

As the other guys have said, bloodwork is what’s needed here. As with anything, if it’s making you feel worse and potentially harming your progress (even mentally) then remove it for sure!

200 NPPTook a full rest today as I felt battered yesterday after training. That was day 7 of training (including an arm day) so was definitely the right move. Cardio, steps and a sauna to start the day and then usual life shit – food shop etc
On the road for 2 days now, Liverpool tomorrow and Manchester Tuesday so will be training out of different gyms. Just one of those ‘get on with it’ sessions no doubt as I’ve fallen in routine training at home right now. Could be worse!

Evening all! Busy day of editing today, must have been sat at the screen for about 10 hours aside from training & eating.
Boxed off Oscars show day video which has been sent to him to watch, he’s over in Spain now so that should give him a little boost for his show on Sunday. Look out for that on his YouTube channel…
As for things here, training has been great this week. Pretty much everything has been progressed across all sessions. In for Push B today, and also multitasked getting pictures in the new clothing dropping soon – I was doing an outfit change every exercise 😂 just so I wasn’t spending too much time within the session taking pics or before/after.
I have a shoot at a different local gym tomorrow, so going to train there. As I’ve been log booking for a good 8 weeks now it’s a bit scary. I’ve fallen into the trap of wanting all sessions the same, but of course with my line of work that’s never going to be the case. Anyway, we’ll nail it regardless.

I also got a podcast in with Mike The Badass, very cool episode. Talked about how it feels to be the next inline to take the title next year now CBum has retired. That airs tomorrow at 6am GMT 🤝🏼
Push B tomorrow, excited to get in and train. Big work block in the morning with a 6am start, 2-3 meals down the hatch and then I’ll be heading in.

Afternoon guys. Epic day with Nathan and Andrew Jacked yesterday, so cool content and conversations post-Olympia. Always cool to hear the behind the scenes stories we hear about from the horses mouth. Andrew is a nice guy.
I’m back with him this evening as he’s doing a seminar here in Wales, so I’ll be heading down shortly to get some content for the gym he’s doing it in.
Training wise, in for posterior today. I’ve juggled some exercises around in my plan as I feel there wasn’t enough focus on certain muscle groups, across the week. More hamstring work added in today and am feeling it. Legs isn’t until Friday so plenty of recovery until then!
Also, reduced my bicep work down today from 2 exercises to 1 but 3 sets instead of 2, as tomorrow I have arms only (yes I have an arm day) so there’ll be a lot more volume thrown at them there.

Hi Jay,
Re your post on the 15th and struggling training early morn (5am) since being more zoned in – why do you think this has changed?
Do you think you need more food, fluids etc in you to match/beat the log book.
I’m asking out of curiosity more than anything else – a year a go I switched from training at 5pm to 6am and have personally felt so much better for it. It would not have always been the case, but I think since climbing the corporate ladder my energy levels and focus are so much better in the morning than they are following B2B meetings, pulling together reports, presentations etc.

Hey buddy, so I think it’s a combination of things. My ‘routine’ is so all over the place on days that I’m travelling for shoots etc, when I’m home it’s nice to have a solid day in place.
6am-12pm: heavy work block of editing etc
12.30pm-2.30pm: training
3.30pm-5.30pm: light work block of editing etcThis means ‘mentally’ I’m more focused going into the session knowing work is pretty much done for the day.
I trained fasted for so many years with no issues and I’m sure if it was what I HAD to do I’d get used to it, but feel so much better with 2 meals in and hydrated!

Depends on your total protein for the day. You want protein feed spread evenly so divide your daily total by how many meals you eat and then you’ll have the serving requirement. For me I’m doing around 50-60g across 6 meals a day.
