If you are doing 3 rep chest presses and 3 rep shoulder presses , I am just extremely hopeful that you are at the very least going 4/5/6/7/8 reps with that weight before upping the weight again . Or I am going to put a lot of money that in a years time you will barely look like you have changed.

yes i am i just seem to overshoot a-lot of sets i usually go for 5 reps on my pressing movements is that fine to do

Can I ask why you train in such low rep ranges?

As for knee sleeves TBJP now has some! This will provide some warmth to the knees
I recommend looking into making sure execution of movements is nailed, and making sure you are doing your prehab and stretching work

i train in such low rep ranges as i feel this is what works for me and i progress quickly with this im just trying to get as strong as i can right now and i feel that the size with come with it ive had a look at tbjp and the only ones with my size are double ply i got my brother to measure my knee and idk if ive done it right because i dont have like massive knees and im an xl but are double ply fine?

The main issue i see with the younger group now is they seem to forget that all training of any kind will build you more muscle than you ever thought possible

Bro split = 50 pounds of muscle , all training = 50 pounds muscle

So the realism is if you dieted to lean lean , your mid / low 70kg , you could get bigger doing press ups and chins ups in the park

So when you ask these questions , and we all reply , “it literally doesn’t matter” ,
You need to really try to take that in . The young generation now can’t listen to answers very well that don’t agree with the content they are consuming from people with no muscle .

Pick a split , progress your lifts . If you can’t pick , literally flip a coin

    Done

I get this but you said about how frequency is important so i was asking a question about it as all i want to do is build as much muscle possible in the quickest way

    Hi Joe,

It’s not uncommon for movements later in the session to be a bit more of a grind, but something has to be first, and something has to be last.

Instead of looking for a full rep, have you tried microloading?

Get some 0.5kg plates, one either side is an increment of 1kg, which over the three weeks is 3kg. It’s all progress.

yeah ill try it mate i just thought because if im stuck at 5 reps i just didnt know what to do because i know theres fixing form tempo etc which i did or either beating the reps from last time or upping the weight i would of tried upping it but obviously i would of lost a rep with 2.5 so ill give that a go mate thanks rich

Flip a coin . It makes zero diff . Pick one , do it for a year , then do the other

I thought frequency was important though and if im losing frequency going from eod to 2x a week?

Before you switch splits, how long has that been the case for? How long since you had a deload? How long have you been on this set of movements?

i have not deloaded in a while and i have stayed on this set of movements for 2-3 months from when i added 1 other set

    I agree with Joe

Full body is all cool if your new to training, I find we can quickly outgrow it

Sounds like it’s upper lower or PPL time for you

idk how to program upper lower though
Hi Joe,

It sounds like a lazy response, but I highly recommend you go and watch the videos in the educational section.

You will get an insight into how the sessions should be set up rather than someone just giving you a template

A small investment of time will massively inform your understanding when you’re then putting a session together and discussing the set up on here.
okay thank you rich i also agree i think i replied straight before going to sleep not gonna lie😂 but ill have a look mate thanks hopefully it goes well. I think ill do fb today though as i dont wanna not know what im doing when im at the gym so ill do my fb b today and switch it so i have a day to sort it all out thanks again everyone

Sounds like you’re not enjoying it man and 3 hours is really long for anyone. Could understand it taking jp that long cus of what he lifts but most people shouldn’t be taking that long. Time for a change and get back to enjoying it. Switch to upper lower.

i think ill give it a week though if im still not enjoying ill switch
