    Thanks for responses as usual

Goal is to progress log books as everyone stated and transition into blast having already gotten stronger. I think that’s the absolute perfect scenario to be in going into blast with some momentum

Can’t go wrong with a good iso protein and some nut butter added in or some eggs … or both lol. I have some of the MRE lite it’s the animal protein from redcon in the blueberry crumble flavor … almond milk, 2 eggs, tbs of raw almond butter.. and holy shittttt it’s better than any real deal milk shake. Couple carbs from the nut butter maybe 5-7g

Up to you. Counting Trace macros is person dependent , do they “count” .. yea. But if your food sources are fairly consistent IMO it’s more important what you add or remove to get the changes u want. Idk if that makes sense

it’s a tough one. really comes down to your ability to remain accountable. I’ve always found myself personally require more help.pre contest but who’s to say our Off season couldn’t be even better.

financially I understand doing your own thing if the cost of certain coaches is high but coaches thst I know like the guys on this particular site (not trying to plug) I know are more affordable than the American coaches for example

I’d prefer a coach all year round for one big reason.. for them to learn your body through all phases… big .. lean…etc etc

I also add that the main thing I find in the off season is finding your macros and activity balance.. you can certainly be a little loose with food choices etc.. sorry I’m blabbering on.. both have benefits.. ultimately just gotta do what you feel is right for you

James well said. Seems the general consensus from everyone is that it’s vital. I’ve just come out of a deficit for 12 weeks with a coach. Which mentally was extremely taxing. I recently made the the decision to call off season shots myself. As @corinne mentioned, it’s frustrating for coaches when clients can’t adhere. I just got honest with him and said after diet, I’m not having fun anymore and I can’t commit to full adherence . I need the mental break. I feel I can have a successful offseason with the flexibility that comes with doing things my way. Maybe I’m wrong but I’m going to chance it.

Overall happiness and pleasure in what we do wins every time. Will be sacrificing the benefit of him learning my body over off season but for ME, this feels right currently. Actually felt a weight lift off after making the decision.

Could go either way from here. We will see. Always appreciate the input

all depends if you want a coach…and will actually adhere.

totally cool if you like to be strict half the year and loose the other half – maybe that correlates more to your goals and lifestyle

if you just want direction…then maybe just ask for help with one off plans which you can then implement on your own terms – so definitely still progressing and learning BUT equally having your own flexibility

its frustrating as a coach when people start working with me, but then don’t follow anything as they feel its their off season…it then make my role void and pretty much impossible to change or guide

Agreed 100%. Corinne I can imagine it is beyond frustrating. I’m sure you all as coaches deal with more that DONT adhere versus ones that do.

I have 2/6 meals that are pro/fat and I put them both in the AM because I train around 7pm. So all my carb meals are pushed as close to training as possible. 2 before training 2 after. Seems to work best. I’m starving my first carb meal , but it also gives my gut a break with volume of food going down for the first half of the day.

Me personally I would only use intra carbs when I’m in need of extra cals trying to push up weight. I train just as hard with a good pre and post meal to be honest. And when dieting I found saving those carbs cals for actual food goes a LONG way.

I’ll ask the question every one is thinking. Who the hell is your coach?

He shall remain nameless out of respect like I said I take responsibility as well for not speaking up sooner
