What i have taken away from John meadows is using “slight incline and slight decline” DB pressing. I will slide a 45lb bumper plate under the head or foot of a bench to slightly change the angle. Feels really good and feels more “chesty” than a flat DB bench for me

Leg day went well. Due to scheduling and working 12s i had to do legs a day early, so i tried my best to limit lower back loading due to pulling yesterday.

Seated Leg curl feet narrow: 155×8, 100×16
    shitty Leg press: 3 plates x 11, 2 plates+25lbs x 9
Smith high bar very narrow stance: 135lbsx 11, 135lbsx9
    leg extensions: 65lbs x 16, 65xlbsx 10
Seated leg curl feet wide: 90lbs x 13

So my gym close to the house only has one leg curl machine so i do 2 sets feet touching, then finish hams with feet wide at the end of the workout. I cut one set of hams out since yesterday the SLDL hit them pretty hard. I call this leg press “shitty” because its so damn heavy. The leg press at my other gym i can add another whole plate and achieve the same number of reps. its actually a good machine, just heavy lol. Im still “feeling out” this workout routine, i will eventually get my weights and reps dialed in to hit a loading set of 6-9, then do a backoff set and hit 10-15 reps. On the smith it was my first attempt with that very narrow stance so i just took the first set to total failure then repeated the process. Ill add weight next go-round to try and fail around 8-9 reps next session.

Exercise selection on the 2 way is critical. Example, say chest is lagging, Your tricep exercise would need to be a Close grip bench for some overlap

Ok I tried SLDL with barbell, like Jordan and Connie do, but with no deficit.

I’m got humbled…with no quad drive my top set was 275lbs for 8 with letting the bar die for just a split second on the floor. Then a backoff set of 225×11 and I was wrecked.

If you have a figure 8 wrist strap it KInDA works for laterals, at the top you have to grip a little more, but the beginning and middle portion you don’t have to grip at all.

Just a thought if you have a fatty power lifter friend with an extra set

im new, and the education videos are not open for another day or so. I tried to do the two set range today, but i found i didnt drop the load enough on a few exercises. Example, on highbar squats i hit 275×8, then dropped to 225 and only got 11 with strict form doing 2 mintues rest between sets. I havent squatted in two years due to lumbar issues, but slowly climbing back up.

Great response guys! That’s a great idea, if it goes pull/legs I’ll just row my ass off, then DB SLdL the next day.

One thing I’ve found do to my biomechanics or execution, DB SLDL is more ham focused than BB RDL when I do them. On a scale of hamstring target it seems like it goes

DB RDL, BB SLDL, BB RDL, conventional deads in that order. I get a lot of glute firing in BB RDL, I guess BC of my technique. Maybe going too heavy? It’s a work in progress
