quiet day for me today, max is pretty Ill bless him. Combination of things I think but has caused him to have no appetite for a few days and he’s lost a fair few kgs!
He wanted to get up and about today so we went for a reallll long walk along the canal which was lovely but the heat did start getting to us on the way back.We then went to my favourite place in the world (a little bit of an exaggeration but still is up there) dragon mart! If you don’t know what that is it’s basically 2 hours walking round junk haha, but there are some awesome things there. It’s like a huge car boot but with new things.
This evening I went to the gym in our apartment and got some more steps in just to round it up to 25k which I thought was pretty decent for a rest day.
Tomorrow we are deadlifting (or I will be deadlifting) if make feels better.

Yeah a few of my clients have used it to great effect! Highly recommend.

Lower traps are partly responsible for scapular depression, so any exercise which has that Movement in. Horizontal pull with scapular depression is an example.

I honestly think time moves faster in Dubai, the days goes so so quickly. We waited in for a few pieces to arrive from our Ikea delivery because they also put your things together for you and build it if you are in when they drop off the items so we always take full advantage of that especially with having a large set of draws arrive. We also had the apartment deep cleaned this morning because 3 months worth of dust was just settling around the place, in the UK there wouldn’t be much change but here, as we live next to the desert, there is plenty of dust and stand around.
Got a very productive leg session in despite how busy the gym is, honestly i have not seen anything like it, even this time last year or the year before when i came out during lock down was it this busy. My headphones were permanently on and by a stroke of luck i didn’t have to wait too long for any piece of equipment. I didn’t go full whack on RPE i just gave myself a good idea of where my max reps lie and will progress each session by logging.
For my first block ive decided to do:
Gym shop kit squat machine
Gym shop kit Hip press
Dumbell single leg lunges
Adductor
Hamstring curl
Calves.

So both Max and I are suffering from DOMS quite badly right now. Definitely from the last two sessions we have done at B1 for me being a squats and leg day and then a hamstring and glute day. We took a really nice deload a week prior to this but i think with the new exercises we introduced into our workout we definitely overdid it on the sets, reps and weight. Today i trained upper to give my lower a rest, i did some push movements, not a weight i would have liked but ones that i could still connect with without annoying my shoulder , followed by some tricep work, lateral work and finished off with some abs and calves.
We then went to the Dubai mall of the afternoon which was really nice, i forgot how big it was but was great fun to pick up a few bits (as i love shopping haha) and just walk around in general. You feel amazing because you can easily fo 10k steps in there without thinking. When the heat got too much a lot of people went to the mall to actually do their steps (it being the biggest mall in the world).
Tomorrow we are back on legs but no squats.

Most likely water retention, so I’d take a look at your diet and nutrition, ensure that the rate of weight gain isn’t too fast and is manageable.

Routine is pretty much back to normal now! Tomorrow will be perfect with a 5.30am start and a 10pm bed time routine. Well its sorted for a week until i go to LA and then i am 11 hours time difference so basically switching night and day around for me 😅 But im exciting to head over there and visit some cool gyms as well as shooting with some insane fitness photographers so that will be fun too.
I trained glutes today but in honestly my legs were absolutely battered from yesterdays squat session so split squats were very sore. Not to mention i used the stiffest smith machine ever, it honestly felt like i was lifting 60kg with just the bar 🤣
Tomorrow, we are heading to strong Gym which will be our home for our big three lifts of the week. It offers the best equipment and has an insane community there too 🙂

Loads of options try and vary your meats also
Turkey rashers, billtong, prawns. Dark chocolate can even make meat and veg skewers also.

Are you training once a day 5/6 days a week already? + when you say train twice a day do you mean to weights sessions per day?

Well that was a hell of a 48 hours! Our flight was delayed so we arrived 3 hours later which got into our apartment for 3am and were asleep for 5am, We then needed more than 2hours sleep so we ended getting up at 11am. We were considering taking the day as a rest day but that was finalised when the car (which had already been jump started twice in two different locations didn’t work for the third time despite driving it for an hour to charge the battery. We then needed to wait in the car park of the supermarket for the help to arrive and that brought us to 7pm. Which here is Dubai is rush hour (Actually every hour is is rush hour here but this hour of the evening is particularly bad).
It then took us an hour to get home, which we weren’t to mad about because we had some cold diet coke and some tunes playing on the way back.
Today we tried to get more into routine, after doing all the big things yesterday we woke up at 6.30am. Still not the right time for us as we usually get up at 5.30am but tomorrow hopefully the time difference won’t impact us as much again.
We went to train at B1 again, it was lovely to see so many friendly faces but my mood was soon flipped upside down when at first had to share my squat rack and then had to share it again with another guy who was squatting a guy who has snuck in behind us to deadlift .. They were all so close that if any of them had Covid i would have caught it 🙃 Can’t say i’m a fan of people whilst im training but it should get better as i am around them more 🤣 Max and i lived in our own world for 3+ months being the only 2 people who trained at Cojo’s while we were there, so we didn’t have to deal with sharing equipment.
New day tomorrow hopefully we can get back into even more routine ☺️

Not much of an update from me today as We are currently on the way to Gatwick airport. Our flight back to dubai is at 2:30pm and we get in at 12am as dubai is 3 hours in front right now.
Will be a late night and a busy day tomorrow with us needing to get the car jump started as it will more than likely have a dead battery. We need to do a HUGE food shop as the house is empty and we need to up 4 yes FOUR suitcases 😂 as well as go and train and the second best gym in the world (after Cojos)😜.

You can actually buy tan remover (tan eraser) which works really well. With a bodybuilding tan you may need to still do a few of the above but it will take the majority off. You can get it off Amazon or maybe in somewhere like boots.

Depends on the type of pain
If localised and you can pinpoint with with a 2 pence coin – then use bpc
If it’s harder to locate or harder to access and deeper in the knee then tb500 might be a better alternative.

Not a very exciting day today, it consisted of an hour gym session this morning which to be honest we would have missed if we didn’t need to head to the gym and pick up our belts ect.. and drop of Jordan’s birthday present.
The middle of the day consisted of us packing as we leave for dubai tomorrow. I am so exited to get back I’m bursting! Need some sun haha. This afternoon I went to my granddads funeral, it was a lovely ceremony and an amazing chance to see some family and friends I haven’t seen for years and probably won’t see for a few years more now. I don’t much like funerals. I’ve been to a few and they don’t seem to give me closure. I feel the day forces you to be sad and although many say it’s a ‘celebration of their life’ wearing black and being sad doesn’t quite represent that for me.
Anyway tomorrow marks the end of a very busy week, a nice big deload and our time here in the U.K. We fly at 2pm so will be up bright and early to get to the airport. Exited to get back to the nice weather but I’m going to miss Cojos and everyone in it 💯

May have caused an acute condition called rhabdomyolysis from working out too hard straight back into training. Slowly re-acclimatising yourself to training after a long lay off is essential.
