Experienced something new today and that was doing my hair and makeup in the car while max was driving us to Cojos from Birmingham. We slept through our alarm that was set for 6:30 because we didn’t get back from the Arnold pro show and into bed until 2am and I can’t say 4.5 hours sleep sounded to appealing😂. Because of that we had 25 minutes to tidy and leave the air b&b and make our way over to Cojos for 10am.
The clothing shoot was really awesome and I think it may include some of my favourite pieces yet. Incredible quality, colours and styles all round and some new and exciting styles too.
The plan was to train straight after but we hadn’t eaten so I ended up training around 4.30ish. Glutes/legs and bench for me today and felt hard after a few days off but was s sick session 💯

that is not something to mess around with and wait, go and see a doctor, and they might do an ultrasound for verification.

If the goal is to ultimately continue gaining, I’d run a cut now to get yourself in a good, responsive position to push back up for longer. A cut needs to be run for as long as necessary to get the job done, so it’s irrelevant what you call it. Just get lean enough to set yourself up nicely for another productive gaining phase.
Fully agree with Clare on this one. I would cut and do so for as long as it’s needed to be in an optional position to push up and gain. The terms don’t really matter it ultimately depends on how fast you want to drop the weight. Therefore you could do a more aggressive, intense cut. Or a slower, more controlled one. Both are perfectly fine.

This looks great to me!! Awesome to see you have so much dedication and passion at your age already 💯

Sat writing my log whilst at the Arnold’s pro show because it’s going to be past midnight by the time the show is over. It’s been a great day, we decided to come to the event a little later and trained this morning as we had yesterday off. It’s been a pretty mad weekend but so nice to see everyone and connect with new faces and like minded people.
The open bodybuilding have just been on for prejudging and they look nutty. Marc hector and James Hollingshead looked phenomenal as well Andrew jacks and Martin.
Tomorrow is a very early start with a drive back to cojos for a shoot at 10am for the launch of their new clothing line.

I’d accurately analyse whether or not your training and nutrition is on point first. – if that is then, I’d worry you’re using underdosed gear.
You should notice some difference by now for sure however, it’s important to remember that this stuff takes time it’s not a magic pill, we often don’t realise the progression we make. Start taking weekly checks and compare month to month.

I am surprised i have the energy to write a log today because it was probably one of the busiest day’s i have had in a long time. I am so humbled and feel so grateful to be able to so many incredible individuals at events like the Arnolds. I have lost my voice from talking but it was worth it because i had so much to talk about. We were at the Arnolds from mid day until 6pm and then we attended the TBJP meet and greet and PRO athlete’s meeting from 6-7.30pm. I got back at 9pm and have been flat out with work and getting some decent food in me because the queues at the Arnolds for food was absolutely crazy.
Round 2 tomorrow but we are going to head to the gym in the morning and get a session in first and then travel later on in the day to the venue. We are banking on it being a long ass day as the pro show finals start at 6/7pm so there is no chance it will be over before midnight 😂.

I have always been a fan of squatting and funnily enough i see little glute growth from squatting and a lot of quad growth but that really depends on your stance and how you squat. I do have a background in bodybuilding, i am an IFBB figure pro and i did train slightly more like a bodybuilder for 2 years while i was focusing on bodybuilding but i still included squats in my rotations until 6/8 weeks out. I have found the super elevated heel smith squats to be the best for leg growth this time round though, enjoying those very much.
Nice reading the updates. I notice you have really impressive quads Kiera and I am very interesting how much quad growth someone can get from squatting.
I might be entirely wrong but since your background is powerlifting (as far as I know) you have built those quads mainly from back squatting as a powerlifter? Or would you say your quads are built from other leg exercises?
I find this interesting because I seem to only get good glutes from squatting. 😊

(Remember their words and advice has to cater to people who are old/unfit/infirm as well those who are young and healthy – so quite often you can resume activity much sooner.
Of course there is an element of common sense to all of this, – if it feels wrong or increased pain back off or stop.

So the last 48 hours were not some i wanted to document at the time. Although this is primarily a fitness log it is also a log about our daily lives and how we over come obstacles and challenges that we individually face. I am very open with all aspects of my life really and i find talking about things a loud does help in many situations. I mentioned in my previous log that my granddad had suffered some heart complications and what was thought to be angina or a small heart attack so was taken to hospital on Tuesday morning, he unfortunately passed away this morning after gradually declining over the last couple of days.
I was once very very close to my grandparents, until the age of 16 they practically raised me as my parents worked long hours to provide for our family. Moving to Manchester for Uni and then Sheffield followed by the big move to Dubai did ultimately result in our goodbyes being a little easier but you are still left with a strange feeling that someone is gone forever.
I trained yesterday as training is not just training for me but always a form of therapy. If i am sad, i train. Happy, i train. Angry, I train. It’s been that way for as long as i can remember and it fits every mood i am in. I always come away from a session feeling so revitalised and free.
I didn’t train today, i spent from the early morning to mid day with family and friends and then i decided i wanted to come up to Birmingham because why should i stay at home and be miserable when i could be here seeing friends, watching my fellow TBJP athletes compete and have an overall good time.

Thought i would do a little physique update now that the summer fun is coming to a close. As i mentioned in yesterdays log i am getting back on track with everything to a very strict level as of Monday. I took these check in photos yesterday morning to send over to Cal as a starting point to this tidy up phase.
My goal over the last few months was to improve my lower body, quads and glutes and to enjoy lifting. Both of which i think have gone exceptionally well.
I feel a little uncomfortable posting these photos because for me i know i’m not at my best or anywhere near it. I am also aware i have been off cycle for over 2 months and have another 2/3 months before i decide to run another 6/8 week cycle again so feeling very flat. However, i have had some pretty nice responses to posting this on my social media and it made me realise that being transparent and open throughout all stages is really important so that is what i will continue to do 🙂

All depends on a few factors. Ideally you’ll want a couple of hiit sessions a week for cardiovascular health. However if you are someone who struggles to gain weight, then omitting dedicated cardio may be an option you have to do.

A stressful day today with my granddad being taken to hospital after having a heart attack this morning. we spent the best part of the day in the ward with him and then Max and I went off to the gym to train because other than waiting around there was little we could do to help. My parents were there and it felt good to go and train and clear our head a bit. Not really a day with much detail, i trained legs, squats moved up to 170kg for 4×4 with 5 second eccentrics which felt really good and stable and then the rest of the leg session consisted of the usual set up.. super elevated heel smith squats, split squats and some hamstring work.
Not sure what the plan is tomorrow i think we will head to the hospital for 11am and then go from there. I want to train deadlifts and glutes tomorrow or deadlifts and bench but i will see how my shoulder and bicep feels from todays low bar session before i decide to bench.

Sudden tightness in the musculature around the knee for sure, nothing serious, as the loading isn’t sufficient to cause any meaningful tendon micro trauma I’d imagine x – foam rolling will help massively to loosen up the area.
