Yes Big Dog.
Congrats on the gender reveal – she’s going to have you wrapped around her little finger 😂
On the balance point mate, it’s really difficult to achieve, I’ve found for me when looking at career vs my time vs family time I just accept and communicate with loved one’s that at different times the balance will need to shift.
In those moments/weeks when career/profession has to take up the majority of my time, I carve out (schedule) specific activities with loved ones whether that be a coffee, dinner out, walk etc that is a non negotiable – so whilst they don’t get a lot of your time, they do get your full attention for the time that you set aside.
Don’t be too hard on yourself, your working to provide a better life for them.
Regards
Matt

Hey Kuba,
Delivering a lecture to circa 1000 people is one hell of an achievement.
I know that you’re incredibly driven and future focused but I hope that you have paused for a moment and given yourself a pat on the back.
Incredible journey that you have been on from the start, to where you are now as an athlete and as an educator.
Keep up the great work.
Inspiring stuff ❤️

MemberOctober 28, 2025 at 1:59 pm in reply to: Q for coaches – Contest Prep & PeakingThanks all for your inputs, Hilly, thank you for bringing to life the things you have to consider and or take in account when Peaking an athlete.
I’m sorry if I caused any confusion, just trying to get some insight as these podcasts make things sound simple when I knew that wouldn’t be the case.
Also if I was an athlete I would want to stay with a coach so that they can gather evidence/feedback with a view to making improvements next time.
I do this in my day job all of time, assess and evaluate and make the changes to achieve desired outcome etc.

MemberOctober 27, 2025 at 3:15 pm in reply to: Q for coaches – Contest Prep & PeakingThanks Andy, it’s not you, if I’m asking a Q it’s my responsibility to ask it in a way that everyone understands – I’ll try to reframe.
How is it, that a coach and athlete can work together for several shows, yet the look can be different (hit or miss)
Or
In the case of Hany in 09 with Cutler, the first time he worked with him, brought him bang on?
Granted, I know very little about the variables, hence my question in trying to understand what sets the best coaches in the world apart from the ones who are very good at what they do.

MemberOctober 27, 2025 at 7:58 am in reply to: Q for coaches – Contest Prep & PeakingThanks Phoebe,
Chris Tuttle was talking about prepping Jordan Hutchinson and the fact that Tyler Manion congratulated him on a perfect peak for Tampa.
Chris made the point, that to him, as a coach it wasn’t perfect and he would have done things slightly differently even though JH won.
I guess this reinforces the point you have made about a coach’s eye – and even someone like Tyler Manion doesn’t always know what an athletes best look is, they can only judge what they see on the day.

MemberOctober 26, 2025 at 8:41 pm in reply to: Q for coaches – Contest Prep & PeakingThanks Hilly, I’ve just re-read and understand why you have asked that 🤣 my bad.
I made a point and forgot to add the Q.
Is my observation a fair point, as the standard go up, the margins are finer, but there comes a point where that final 5% in the example that I’ve used, by chance/luck?
you can clearly be an excellent coach and still miss.
Or for the top coaches, is it a case that it’s their ability to manage the variables and potentially rectify things if they’re going wrong 48-24 hours wrong that make them so good?
Sorry if it’s a daft question, I hear terms like soft, full, dry, flat, washed out but when I look at the top competitors they all look amazing – this makes it hard for me to understand what’s gone wrong with a prep/peak and how a coach has either nailed it or missed.

Congrats Nath – chuffed for you both – I’ve never met you, but through the BDC I feel like I’ve got to know your personality (sounds weird I know) and I can see that you’ve got a love in your heart for those around you.
You’ll make a great Dad, gives you a whole different perspective on life.
Matt.

Morning Adam,
Scrolling back and reading through your diet, noting the higher food on NTDs – I’ve always read that the food you eat on ‘game day’s or training days’ doesn’t really count towards performance – it’s what you eat the day before?
Given your experience as a pro coach and pro strongman – do you think more people would benefit from higher cals on NTDs for recover and to fuel their workouts the following day?
Keen to hear your thoughts.
Enjoying the log.

Hi Jay,
Apols for this delayed post, been away on holiday with the family and had some much needed time away from phone/emails/internet in general.
I wanted to congratulate you on one hell of a package that your brought to the stage to take the W at the Welsh.
I managed to catch up on the YT video last night and it was an incredibly convincing victory.
You’re dedication to BB, business and providing for your family is outstanding.
You have demonstrated it’s not all about being optimal, it’s just about getting the job done.
All the best for the next show.

Hi Kuba,
I was catching up on your Dubai VLOGs yesterday – great content as always.
You specifically referenced wanting to inspire and motivate others so I wanted to use this opportunity to share some feedback.
Results don’t care about feelings, I needed to hear this yesterday, I’m on week 9 of my cut (not a bodybuilder, more lifestyle) things are starting to bite a little now with low food, high output and busy work schedule etc. I was hanging yesterday, I was considering swerving cardio (not missed a beat since starting the cut) but those words literally picked me up off the sofa, I headed down the gym and got it done – so thank you.
Also incredibly motivating to hear your story, where you started, and where you are now.
Dedication, discipline, and a lot of graft – you’re a top man.
All the best for the rest of your prep.

Sorry to hear that your knee is in ‘rag order’ big dog.
You have always struck me as someone who is an incredibly positive person so I’m confident that this won’t drag you down too much.
Whilst I can’t comment on what this must be like for a pro athlete, I’ve always adopted the position to focus on what you can do, or can control.
You’re taking steps to get this resolved, so hopefully you will get some answers soon and then get back to ‘full speed’ 😉
All the best.
Matt

Belated Birthday wishes dude, regardless of no off plan meals etc I hope you got to spend some quality time with family, friends, loved ones.
Just caught up on your latest YT video, all good stuff as usual and completely understand your rationale re moving gym locations – I believe this decision will serve you well.
Random Q, is DJing like riding a bike, could Magic jump back on the 1&2s and still bring a decent mix or two to the dancefloor 🤣 bet you have some stories to tell from those years! I worked the doors for near on a decade and some of the sights you see in clubland are madness 😆.

I think people like to follow a journey, being taken for the ride from the start through to the end.
Also, education, the reasons why any changes are made etc.
From an audience perspective, a blend of shorter and longer videos, as sometimes you only have a 10-15 min window, where as last night for example I carved out an hour to watch it in one go whilst the other half was having a bath 🤣
Final point/suggestion, building your brand – who is JB? what does running a successful coaching business look like, attending expos, training with other top level amateurs/pro’s.
This will all compliment the podcast.
Hopefully I’ve not given you too much to think about, if you ask the Q, be prepared for the response.
Food for thought.
Go well big man 💪.

Hi Joe,
I’ve just finished watching the Magic Eye YT video.
A fantastic watch, and you have captured what you have set out to do perfectly.
I found myself smiling throughout, a real glimpse into your thoughts and feelings throughout the days leading up to and including the show itself.
Very much looking forward to an off season series once you have had your downtime.
Matt.
