You were a huge advocate of DC training (for many years) , when you look back, based on what you know now – what are your thoughts on it’s principles, set up, etc.
In short.
What’s good about it?
What’s missing?
It could be improved by…..

As an L&D Professional, I’ve been in the room observing many trainers/teachers/lecturers and often they miss the mark by trying to over complicate the subject. You pitched that at a perfect level with clear articulation of your thoughts and experiences that has led you to drawing your ‘conclusions’.

Lots going around dude, I’m just coming out the other side of the same thing – frustrating when you’re on a good run too.
Like you say, the positive is that it’s happened NOW and not closer to show day.
Rest up, recover and you’ll be back at it before you know it ๐ช

Hi Kuba,
A quick message to thank you for the outstanding content that you put out on YouTube.
Your passion for the sport and all things related to professional growth, development, and effectiveness is incredibly motivating.
Side note – if you have not read it already, Deep Work by Cal Newport is a great read/listen depending on your preference.
All the best.
Matt.

Makes sense, especially if you feel like you thrive in that environment.
I assume you will still travel back every now and then for those Sunday dinners I see on your socials lol….
Out of interest, what’s your Arnolds prediction? (Mens Open)

Hi Joe,
Glad to hear that prep on the road is not phasing you.
When you say viewing properties, are you planning on moving to London full time? Curious to know what’s driving the move to the big smoke, given Cheltenham is the polar opposite.
Hope all goes well for the rest of the week dude.

Following with interest dude – given the shape and conditioning that you’re holding off season this should make for an exciting prep.
Also, thanks for responding to my Q, I don’t know how you guys get that food down day in/day out. I’ve recently bought into the CoR hype, yes I know very slow…. But it’s really helped with calories around training.
All the best.

Always good to hear that things are progressing and moving in the right direction Joe.
Also, after some of the injuries/niggles that you’ve had, it must be great to have a good run of training, stringing sessions together etc.
Quick Q – that looks like a lot of food, is that high for you or have you gone higher in the past?
Keep ticking the boxes dude ๐ช
-
Well done J, love to see people meet their goals, aims, objectives etc.
To deliver on this against your busy schedule is not an easy thing to do, so props to you.
Keep up the great work dude ๐ช

Just dropping in to say another quality video on YT Jay.
Large and in charge dude – 2025 is going to be a big year ๐.

280, then 285, then 290 ๐ช let’s go!!!!
Sounds like you’re making great progression even with the shoulder and back issues Joe.
Quick Q – have you always been an advocate of low volume or have you played around with different formulas and just found that this is what work best for you?
-
I suppose it’s just a case of finding ways to work around those Injuries whilst still being able to make progress – maybe increasing rep ranges to reduce loading?
All good here thanks, Push yesterday and legs today – Sunday roast almost ready whilst watching Sco vs SA on the box ๐

Looks like a good session Joe, first time I have used the Hammer Strength kit was last week when I visited and I was really impressed by it – low row and pull down in particular.
How does the shoulder hold up on back days? Or is the pain more prevelant on chest & delts?
Keep ticking those boxesโ๏ธ
-
I was also really impressed with the Arsenal T Bar row – it was very humbling and upper back has been trashed since Fri.
Will defo take a trip over to your place at some point, I won’t stick on the England rugby shirt though – don’t want to antagonise the locals ๐
Hpe the shoot goes well tomorrow, keep ticking those boxes dude.

Great session thanks Jay – was good to play around on some of the Hammer Strength kit – first time I’ve ever used the pull down and chest press from the DY Blood and Guts videos and they just hit differently.
Does the Shed have similar equipment to your ‘base’ gym or will you improvise like you have to whilst on the road.
Have a great w/e.
Matt.
