Great to meet you today Joe, thank you ever so much for taking time out of your training to talk all things BB.
As I said to you in person, pics don’t do you justice, carrying 275 very well.
Wishing you every success in life, business and BB.
May catch you again when we take the trip up to Cheltenham.
Regards.
Matt.

Good to see everything moving in the right direction even with your crazy schedule Jay.
Caught the new YouTube vid this morning – off season 5k cals, another good watch and I recall all to fondly when I was competing in strongman that last meal of the day was always the hardest to get down.
I’ve got a days leave tomorrow so taking the trip over to TBJP X SHED Gym, I’ve been before but looks like there is always new equipment arriving in there so buzzing to have a ‘play’ on as much kit as possible.
Keep grafting dude ๐ช

For someone who is so well known across the BB scene I think it’s so refreshing that you have zero interest in ‘fame’ J.
I might be way off, but sometimes I think if there wasn’t the need to ‘market’ and ‘promote’ your brand you would quite happily do without a phone or the Internet ๐๐๐

Hi Jay,
Re your post on the 15th and struggling training early morn (5am) since being more zoned in – why do you think this has changed?
Do you think you need more food, fluids etc in you to match/beat the log book.
I’m asking out of curiosity more than anything else – a year a go I switched from training at 5pm to 6am and have personally felt so much better for it. It would not have always been the case, but I think since climbing the corporate ladder my energy levels and focus are so much better in the morning than they are following B2B meetings, pulling together reports, presentations etc.
Keep going dude – all the best ๐

Hi Jay,
Caught up on your latest videos this morning (Italy Coaching and Leg Day)
Great content as always, and pleased to see that you’re continuing to put the ticks in the boxes – it will all add up the next time you hit the stage.
Agree ref the Deadpool soundtrack – I took my lad to the cinema to watch it and we were both laughing our heads off at the opening scene.
Keep up the great work ๐ช

MemberSeptember 23, 2024 at 7:02 pm in reply to: JP prep 2024/25 – NO OFF TOPIC QUESTIONSHi Jordan,
I’ve just caught up on your latest video, a great watch.
A very personal question and something that you may not want to put out there, as goals for some people, are a very private thing.
At the beginning of the video, you eluded to doing this for a few more years.
Have you given any thought to your long term goals (Business/Personal)?
If I recall correctly, you have your Masters, would you consider going back into academia ‘Dr Jordan Peters’?
Equally, with the numbers you pull off the floor for reps, it would be interesting to see what you can pull for a single as there are plenty of ‘deadlift’ comps etc.
Appreciate that there is lots to get after before your competitive days are up.
Keep up the great work.
Matt.

MemberSeptember 8, 2024 at 8:01 pm in reply to: JP prep 2024/25 – NO OFF TOPIC QUESTIONSGenuinely good to see you knocking it out the park mate.
No rush with answering this, appreciate you will need to be ‘in the right mood’ as its probably a 1% question that people may get too hung up on, when what really matters is consistency and progression across all aspects.
But, over the years you have trialled a number of approaches; traditional DC, Dr Scott’s 6x4s, Top Set x Back off, RIR and I think I even recall zig zagging at one point.
All had progressive overload as the nucleus, you’re now seem to be employing straight sets as your go to.
So the Q, in your experience does it matter how you overload the muscle (methods as above) or to keep it simple, have a plan, stick to it, progress your numbers.
Just after your take on things and probably the ‘why’ as you have clearly spent much time critically analysing all aspects of your training.

MemberSeptember 8, 2024 at 2:30 pm in reply to: JP prep 2024/25 – NO OFF TOPIC QUESTIONSHi Jordan,
Just to reinforce what you said in your post yesterday (your journey).
I’ve been fortunate enough to watch your growth (physical and professional) ever since XJPX popped up on the forums.
You were very different to everybody else and I was lucky to work with you in those early days, your approach to progressive overload has never wavered and people don’t appreciate the ‘dogged’ mindset it takes to stick to a training plan, and progress no frills lifts week after week, year on year for 10+ years.
The best bit, is even with your knowledge and experience you’re still refining your approach – trialling and testing what is humanely possible – I love it.
All the best
Matt.

Hi Jay,
Really pleased to find your log on here.
Firstly a huge congrats on the TBJP sponsorship, earned and not given as a handout.
Secondly, on a personal level, I really enjoy the content you put out ‘Magic eye’ and the Beautiful Struggle podcast. As a busy professional, your videos and podcasts genuinely help me to switch off and forget about the demands of a high pressured job.
You have always struck me as a really down to earth, genuine and authentic character. Combine this with your work ethic and discipline makes me a fan.
Wishing you a productive off season and hoping business continues to boom.
Hope you’ve had a cracking holiday too – family first, rest and recharge….
Matt.

Hi Jordan,
No question, just taking a moment to recognise the dedication, drive and discipline that you have demonstrated for circa 20 years on this journey.
When you think back to those UKM days when you burst on to the scene, people questioned your methods and approach, some even talked sh1t… but you remained focused on the goal and applied yourself on a daily basis to the task at hand.
I’m making a broad assumption here that because you’re so busy you don’t often get the time to pause and reflect on how far you have come and all that you have achieved. So, I hope this message from an old friend helps you to see that for those of us who have watched XJPX grow both physically and professionally it has been one hell of a journey to observe.
Wishing you all the best.

Looking fwd to following this prep Bish ๐
Always keen to see if you’re making changes with nutrition?
I suspect cals are increased when in prep?
I really liked the video you did on your YouTube channel a few years back where you opted for more calorie dense foods as opposed to meat/rice etc.
The Banana bread with lashings of Peanut Butter was a particular favourite of mine….

Thanks for taking the time to reply champ, wow that’s a lot of ‘clean’ food to put away but at 150kgs you’re going to need a lot of calories to maintain that bodyweight and to fuel your workouts.
It must be really beneficial to your overall goals now that you can focus on eating around the clock full time. I can imagine working at Quins somewhat limited your ability to sit down and eat meals and you maybe had to opt for drinking your calories?
Also, thank you for sharing your views on DL/Squat on the same day x 2 a week. I recognise that there are lots of variables at play and without going into specifics it’s difficult to answer but there are some really good points for me to think on.
I don’t expect you to follow this up but for wider context I’ve come from a strongman/rugby background and have taken up BJJ 7 months ago. I’m just trying to find the balance between high pressure day job x family x BJJ x gym…shoulders are knackered but can still squat and DL so was considering just focusing on these movements – I’ll work it out in the end.
Keep up the great work, you come across as a real genuine guy on the TV and I think that’s why you have such a good fanbase #TeamBish
