Unless your legs are very very weak I wouldn’t think you’d be able to load that set up sufficiently long term.

Personally I would go with a good old fashioned back or front squat. Heel elevated to target quads more. (Unless you have an injury that prevents axial loading)

In the immortal words of Kirk Karwoski “what’s wrong with squatting” (I know Big Rich on here will appreciate that reference).

I do squats too . But just wanted to try something different

What muscle group are you trying to target here glutes? Or quads? Then we will be able to give some more advice 🙂

So I’m really focusing on going down . Driving knees over toes . Hold that pause for a second and control the way up

Frequency would be the answer to that question , what frequency are you repeating those movements ? The fly and db press will cause more recovery demands than the 2/2/2 , as the fly and db press load the stretch more so . This is where exercise selection then is key as too much stretch work is hard to recover from

PPL split
IYO how would you set it up ?

Yes , or exercise selection causes recovery issue

Let’s say for chest
Am I better off doing 3 sets flies then 3 sets incline dumbbell instead of 2 sets flies 2 sets DB and 2 sets incline smith

Lifts progressing , that’s all that matters . If lifts are progressing , your current stimulus is creating adaptations that see lifts progressing

So if there not progressing
It’s too much volume ?

Yeah maybe the fact that I’m doing a bit of an aggressive cut wouldn’t help me either

I think 1 more week I should be good to go again

Just the fact it’s taken me this long to realise

Chill. You have plenty of time ahead of you to progress. There’s no need to panic or rush anything or you’ll just end up binging or needing more time off the gym. Be sensible and take things slowly.

You think I should do a slower cut so ? Instead of just trying to get it off asap ? There’s about 3kg to come off being honest
I’d just keep diet where it is now, train hard, keep some cardio in, allow some re-comp and only increase food again once you have gained some good performance progress (but don’t force it!) and lifts are stalling again. Be patient.

My diet atm is cutting
200 carbs TD
150 NTD

Yes , whatever you’re at now is your start point . Just draw a line under the mess of the last phase . Start again from here , progress lifts , don’t over eat . Simples 🙂

I think there’s another 2-3kg to drop first then it’s go time . But it’s strange to lose strength so soon

When was the last time you took a de-load?

Yeah maybe it’s time for one

What’s the way you do a deload ? Leave RIR or reduce volume ??
The join in from train by JP is also a great supplement for joints as well as the osteo pro as well – would be some great supplements to add in for now

If joints are something that you do struggle with peptides are something that you can utilise , but it’s not always a necessity. Unless wanted to end with that, I find BPC157, TB 500 and GHK CU to be very effective

As Clare says if you haven’t taken a deload and you do feel like your recovery is taking a huge decline and joints are really feeling niggly. Take one for me. I like to do 3 to 4 days of rest into a session of easing in and then getting back to work. Xx
Perfect I’ll do 3 days rest and reduce volume and go from there

Hiya Jack, if you can please outline your diet including any sauces or vegetables you eat. Outline your activity like steps and training and how much you drink in a day. How long has this been going on for? How has recovery been? Are you juggling a lot in life/work right now? A lot of the time when it comes to digestion a lot of surrounding questions need to be asked to help give helpful advice!

The only thing is I can think of would be my sleep
I only manage to get about 4-5 hours due to young kids
