But 2 sets IMO is very little to not progress ??
You may have had slightly less sleep the night before, was under more stress, were less hydrated, didn’t take enough rest between sets, the smith machine may need oiling, you were distracted, the set up was slightly off… Maybe those 5 reps you got, were actually better quality reps than the 6 you got previously, which means you did progress. Don’t over worry about it.

how do you look now with 6kg on?
if you look awesome then id say all is good but i would not want to see this trend continue and I would want to be holding were you are a little.
If you look much softer and dont feel great then its clearly been to much of a quick increase.
I would speak to your coach and address with him/her, thats what you pay them for.

6kg in a week isn’t great: except if you are a classic physique am/pro who hardly beated the weight for a contest and it’s mainly 6kg glycogen (which I don’t think so)

Tell to your coach that you need more explanations cause you don’t agree with this; this is your body mate; we can’t accept everything blindly; communication is key

If your up 6 kg in a week that’s cutting your offseason short by about 12 weeks
I’d expect 6 kg up in 12 weeks not a week for me and my athletes
Put 6 kg of beef on scales … your just gaining fat and water this fat 0 muscle
