Hey Louie. Regarding your back sessions – out of interest why do you not break up your pulling work with rear delt, trap, straight arm/pullover work to give your biceps a rest? I ask as I took this tip from John Meadows and I’ve found if do: pull down, row, then rear delts/traps then go into another row and then a pull down I find my biceps are not a limiting factor, and I can achieve a better Mind-muscle connection. Especially pull downs after straight arm/pull over or rows after shrugs/rear delts. Cheers

Hey man! Ive never really felt like my biceps are being over recruited during my back workouts as my connection with my back is pretty good I always focus on not using my biceps so I guess I just never really saw it as a problem!
I was lucky enough to attend a seminar put on by Dorian in the original temple gym and he helped massively just by telling me on all back movements feel like you’ve pulling with your elbows , it takes everything else out of the movement ??

Good morning everyone. Had a chilled rest day yesterday! Stressful watching the England game though! I can’t believe how many penalties we keep giving away! Had a meal off in the evening. Woke up pretty light today at 93.1kgs. Out on my walk just now it’s pretty cold. Training chest later tonight which I’m looking forward to!

Can’t believe the amount of pointless penalties we give away it was like England from the 90’s , plus the ref giving the taffs a hand when he could it was stressful mate for sure , have a good chest session, shoulders & triceps for me today
Mate honestly it was a rough rough game! I’d like to say the ref ruined the game with a few bad called but the reality is we had a chance to bring things back in the second half and we didn’t take advantage of that. Hope you had a good workout buddy mine was incredible!
Exactly mate we was just too sloppy on the day sad too see …… yeh had a good one mate just ramping things up slowly ready for gyms too open can’t wait

Hey mate loving the log and all the vlogs how have you found switching too 4 day a week split with 3 rest days . It’s something I’m going to try especially given my age and I’m using the rest of this year as an off season phase.
Thanks for giving back as always big man #giantiscoming2021

I think I may use an extra rest day here and train Friday/Saturday have Sunday off.
I get asked a lot of the time should you train when you are ill??
The old school of thought would be to train and sweat it out right ? that’s completely the wrong way to look at it. You’re already in a whole with a weakened immune system fighting something then your going to give it the task of saving your ass from a heavy workout as well.
It’s important to rest here guys. Ask yourself if the session will be progressive or not. Then make the decision from there.

Top advice big man rest is essential in times of illness and also when over fatigued, I’ve always thought if you can’t train 100% don’t try and half arse a workout

Well guys I gotta say I’m over the moon with making top ten in a 19 man top top line up for the debut.
I’ve discussed with Jordan this am that my main focus now is to build on the weaker areas needed to make qualification next year an absolute certainty.
So it’s straight into off season for me which I will document.
I would have loved to have competed at the British but this is by far the smartest and best move for me.
This year was always about getting myself out there on an IFBB stage and seeing how I stacked up.
Mission accomplished ✅✅✅
So selfishly I’m sorry if you were looking forward to seeing the Giant at the British but please respect my career goals right now must come first.
Time to get big and strong again ?

Fantastic debut mate and I think we can safely say you showed the bodybuilding world a giant , top ten in that line up was so impressive man . Going straight into an off season sounds like the best plan for sure , will be following with much interest ?? and thank you for all the content for this show it’s been top notch

It’s been a great watch and read the last few months via the site and insta too see the journey and how much you have changed to be able to hold your own on the pro stage , think a lot of people will take notice in Spain and it’s the start of big things for the giant .
Been some good laughs along the way as well with the U.K. promuscle podcasts and the YouTube vids there has been plenty of content can’t wait too see the final look ??

Have you had a break at all during your gaining phase and done any sort of mini cut to give your digestion a break and re-sensitise insulin response?
Tips to help with appetite and high calories would be looking at your diet choices and trying to opt for foods low in volume and fibre. Doing a little fasted cardio on wake and taking a short walk pre and post meals, chewing foods slowly to stimulate digestive juices, keeping stress low and getting adequate sleep.

Thanks for the response Clare , being pushing calories for a lengthy time I will admit but did do a mini cut due to lockdown so body comp is good at the moment around 13/14% I’m 5’8 and 16 stone 1lb
I do have a very active job as well but I’m terrible at chewing my food properly , my other thought was to possibly start going lower calories on none training days to try and help appetite, and I will add in some am fasted cardio .

Thanks again Clare

Few things to ask yourself in my opinion mate
1 – How long have you been pushing for? What does body comp look like, what does fasted blood glucose look like?
2 – How long do you spend chewing your meals?
3 – Do you make your meals taste GOOD? seasonings, salt, etc
4 – Are you moving at all before and around meals? Short walks can really aid appetite

Thanks for the input Aj and if I’m honest I’m terrible at chewing it’s 3 chews and swallow, I know I know it’s a bad habit lol.

In terms of body comp it’s good for where I want to be around 13/14% visible abs apon waking I’m 5’8 and 16 stone 1lb , I have a physical job I’m a builder so plenty of activity during the day .

Another vice is I’m so old school the meals are generally just plain Jasmin rice and plain chicken or turkey , I need to start making them less bland
Thanks again

EQ can help in this area, and when it does this for an individual I almost see it as an adjunctive purpose. There some alternative options mentioned, but also options to augment with ghrelin related peptides or particular 1st-gen antihistamines that powerfully stimulate appetite, I believe Ronnie admitted to using that to help with massive food consumption.
Hope this helps
