Off season i’ll go pretty relaxed and swap things up. I like a baguette, with steak, gherkins, onion relish and a bit of salad as one of my meals. Lovely, and 50g protein, 60g carbs and 10-15g fat for the meal. Or i could have chicken, rice, olive oil and some broccoli for the same calories! No brainer…. Only time i change up is when calories are low and i want more volume for the calories. Then also when food gets silly high and bread, pasta, red meat etc stops digesting well.
I wouldn’t be eating Mc Donalds 3 times a day though. But every other day if you want a big meal of what ever you fancy then just do it. I’ll add a Doughnut, ice cream, few beers or chocolate bar in here and there in the off season on occasion.

Rotties – weekly dosage administration the day of travelling and be prepared for potential large peak concentration the day after. Even if its 2 weeks it should see you through. A sharp level drop off would take 3 weeks for example with enanthate. Then resume as normal upon return.
Thanks. Would you also double up AI for a day or two in that case? So if it was at 1/2 tab eod. Then do a tab eod for a couple of days?

For guys who go away abroad when on cycle, what’s the best protocol to use? Should you just stop jabbing and restart a week or 10 day when you return? Should you do a double dose when you leave, and when you get back to account for the jabs you’ll miss? What would be the most efficient way to do it? You’re going to get hormone fluctuations but if these don’t noticeable effect someone, would it matter?
This is assuming a person didn’t want to take there cycle with them due to laws or what ever…..

Right side may be very slightly. Again nothing upping the AI and 20mg Nolva a day won’t fix.

Age old question really which no one actually knows. No studies have been done on guys running large/decent amounts of gear and training like animals as far as I know…. for me, I like a decent amount per meal. 40-50g as a rule. So that’s 260, nearer 300g a day from direct sources. Plus any trace amounts on top. I use that amount despite what im weighing.

Thanks for the detailed response. 🙂 @jordan-Peters

I don’t have a single smaller guy do cardio. They don’t need it for CV health , they aren’t unhealthy , so why would they do it ?
Well they would do it as they’re still likely using AAS in doses that effect heart and lipid health? Also it’s effects on body composition when pushing up. Doing it fasted on rest days and keeping carbs low until later in the day has been advised on here by James as a way he stays leaner. It’s effects on appetite etc.
Not disagreeing, or saying you’re wrong to not advise it but it still must have benefits to guys in the 200 lb region surely?
For me it’s my blood pressure. 190lbs BP is fine, 215lbs it’s getting hard to control….. unless I stay very active and do 20-25 mins cardio on off days. Then it’s 10 points lower.

If your sub 200 pounds and wanting to push up, walking your dog or just your neat will suffice. Once you start to hit new levels of body weight that are well beyond your genetic capabilities , indeed , some cardio is going to help you grow more
@jordan-peters You’d think it would be the other way around? I’d have thought a sub 200 person could be a lot more active, able to recover and grow, than someone who is well beyond their genetic level, weighs a lot and the additional movement would be more taxing?
Do none of your smaller guys do cardio when pushing up? Even if they’re not active during the day?

Rotties – I would in that instance look at taking them in the late evening then? What about looking to add Boswella as a COX inhibitor daily? Would be beneficial in this instance.
@drdeanstmart
Is the Boswellia to used as a NSAID alternative for the painful bollock? Or just good to run as an anti inflammatory the whole time? -
Cool. Thanks chaps. Both are about 10 mins away and close to each other so could try both! Bit further than I’d have liked but they do look juicy.
Binous does look well good.

100g raw white potato is about 15g carbs and not much else. 100g of rice is 80g or carbs. Both will take on water when cooked. Rice a lot more so however.

Rotties – We need an inflammatory response element to support hypertrophy. Although it is only one of the mechanisms, its still important overall. I would therefore move antioxidant supplementation to bedtime when you’re body is going to most likely require their support during cellular repair. Dr Scott always discuss the hormetic effect and we should strive to have some level of pro-oxidants. We know that over supplementation of Vitamin E can be harmful long term actually. NSAIDs I discussed in my Feb Q&A which I think it was Cameron who asked this. basically try to avoid them around the peri workout perimeter if possible; if not topical analgesic to joints etc would be the next thing to consider
Hi @drdeanstmart, thanks for the response.
So that moves me to my next question. If I train first thing (after breakfast) would it make a difference taking a full dose of my fish oils and coq10 etc before bed? Does splitting these things matter? Would the NAC and curcumin that I take upon wake (1 1/2hrs pre workout) potentially negatively effect hypertrophy?
I only ask about NSAIDs as they’re something i prefer to avoid but since having the snip I do have “issues” down there with swelling about every 6-8 weeks. Sometimes I can ignore it, but other times I need a few days on neurofen as it gets very tender!

3-4 max per body part I would say
Flat press x 2
High inclin press x 2
Dip x 3
Pulldown x 2
Row variation x 2Load set , back off set
Hi Jordan,
Have you ever tried a upper/lower but prioritising one aspect over the other to increase volume with out impacting recovery?
So say for example a upper push focused, lower hamstring focus, off, upper pull focus, lower quad focus. Adding slightly more volume for the focused sessions per body part, but not taking too much away from the top up.
Or would total volume over the week be similar either way rendering the concept useless? Was just thinking as a progression from U\L to PPL kind of territory.

Good idea for a thread. Saves jamming up your log!
@drdeanstmart how much of an issue is antioxidants taken around the workout window? Say NAC, ALA, COQ10 etc? As well as things like fish oil and OTC NSAIDs?

Former smoker. Gave up when I had kids from about 10-12 a day, so not that heavy. I just stopped cold turkey. Said to myself this was my last packet. Had a few more packs! Lol Then just stopped!
Still relapse when I’m stressed beyond belief, or when out with the lads and had a few!
Giving up is a great think though. It’s a very gross habit and the sooner it dies out the better IMO.
