Right then, so the above is my current condition and size. Currently weighing today at 83.5kg with a waist of 75.5cm so veerrryy happy with that. 25 weeks out of the first comp so time to add a touch more density, but I’m realistic as given the timeframe and general deficit there won’t be slabs of muscles to be had. Every little bit adds up to the full package though! Being lifetime natural, need to make sure we maximise this period to ensure the body retains as much tissue as possible before crunch time.
So, legs on the cards today and I’ve a special date with my girl today – the hack squat, banded of course. Used to absolutely hate this machine, probably because my execution was off so would slightly come away from the back pad when the going gets tough. Now I consciously push myself into the machine and go for it. Also, did I mention it’s a Watson Hack Squat!? Having to contend with the funky strength curve of the machine and the additional resistance because of clunky mechanics is enough, but we work with what we’ve got.
Also eyeing up a pb on the leg press today. Should be able to hit 420kg for a comfortable working set if all goes to plan. By comfortable, I mean gut busting, sphincter blowing set so yeah…. hardcore haha.
Rest of the day consists of chilling out a bit. Something I’m not great at, followed by some rounds of pool with the boys tonight. Diet cokes all round!! Also, continuation on educating the OH on good films. Haider recommended the Pursuit of Happiness. Any other must sees anyone can suggest?
Whatever your plans this weekend, hope everyone has a good one.

Yes it worked haha – I’m such a techie genius… or looked it up on Google. Couple more pics

Right, going to try and post some current pics. Managed to decrease the file size to 457.2kb so should be able to upload.

Big question on everyone’s lips – did you get a pb on the pivot leg press!?
Haven’t tried it myself as can’t justify the additional spend – saving for a wedding and a mortgage. Bodybuilding doesn’t leave one with much in the way of surplus funds. I’m sure it’s absolutely on point and can’t imagine what accurately dosed supplements are like. Definitely go for the blood orange too – good choice!
Reverse hyper machine sounds unnatural – just prefer the standard back extension and squeeze the hammies throughout or just the ghr.

Actually know someone who emulated a Kai Greene leg workout. One hour of cardio on the stepper and then tons of volume, which ended in barbell squats after 3 hours. Safe to say he was an absolute mess and couldn’t train for a good fortnight. And no, his legs didn’t grow – they actually shrunk from that one workout haha.
Yeeessss Ry Ry, looking on point at the mo. Some of the doses I’ve heard are crazy, even for beginners. They read Dorian Yates cycle and begin straight away on his highest doses – a guys who weighed in at the 250-270lb and trained all out at the peak of his development, versus a 6 stone beginner weakling. In your opinion, do you think there are more people taking higher doses these days for cosmetic purposes i.e. for their holiday, summer months, high school reunion or just to look good day to day? The majority of people needn’t think of cycles, but some of them are paying for GH and insulin. Unless you’re the 1% elite, which usually they’re not, it baffles me.
Also, when people ask you bodybuilding questions on average, how long until they bring drugs into the conversation?

Hey Sam. Just checking in. Sounds like you’re having fun in PB city right now! Good to see. Glad everything’s going well (More food is always a good sign!). Haven’t seen you for a while. When are you next in? I’ll hopefully be at Primitive tomorrow as I have a date with the evil Hack Squat!
PB City!? Pffttt, think on a grander scale – maybe PB County, perhaps PB continent! Yeah everything’s flying up, which I’m surprised with considering I’m essentially in maintenance mode / slight deficit. Not going to argue though.
Ooooo, I’ve got a date with her tomorrow. I prefer to the hack as ‘she’ as there’s no way a male could inflict that much pain on me and I come crawling back every time. Crawling metaphorically and literally of course haha – damn DOMS! Best of luck with the hacks today – still banded right? I’m sure with your new intra workout supps, you’ll be stacking the plates on today.
I know, it’s been aggggeeess. I am sure we’ll tie in at some point and if not, we could make a conscious effort to tie in 🙂 Need to see you at the height of your ‘chubby’ phase before the prep becomes aggressive haha.

Haha what I’d tell you Corinne – your indulgent treats are in demand and very moreish by the sounds of it! I hear those treats get you hooked worse than crack. It’s almost a sin to speak of such goods during a bodybuilder’s prep. Need a sub-section in the site’s online store for your baked goods Corinne.
Ryan shared it with Rachel!? Is that what he said. Don’t believe that for a second – I can imagine him excusing himself and then locking the bathroom door with it, tiffin for one!
Clare – eating that sounds tougher than a leg session, but as usual your perseverance shines through!
Maybe withhold the treats going forward until Ryan gets his pro card? Now you’ve got him hooked, that’ll be the motivation to drive him over the edge 😉

Another brilliant session this morning. Didn’t attempt the 45kg dbs for high incline today, I was sensible and stuck to the 40s. Problem is the next jump is 5kg a side so 10kg total is huuuggggeee when you’re close to maxing your movement out. Hint hint Ryan get some dbs that go up in 2kg increments for 40kg upwards haha. I’ve tried ducktaping micro plates to dbs in the past, but they just end up falling off. May just just have to progress reps to around 12-15 before jumping to the 45s.
Incline db press felt superb today so should be back on the 50s in a month or two – fingers crossed.
Check in this morning went very well and looks like a slight increase in food this week. The aim being to maintain current conditioning or thereabouts and continue to push on. Going to be a deload coming up soon, last one being w/c 24th Dec so definitely due. Always good to schedule it in and take it before you actually need it. Used to wait until I got ill and then that was my week off basically. Looking back, foolish I know but we all learn and continue to do so.
Rest day on the cards tomorrow and very welcome.Going to need it after the excitement of Shrek tonight.
To anyone reading, hope you have a good day and keep smashing those goals!

Superb choices there mate. I’m probably the first to tell you this, but your leg curl is awful!!! New decline would be nice – whoever snapped the old leg pad can pay for it. HS Shoulder press would be a great addition. Look forward to when you buy all of the above
Cardio? Oh, you mean lifting heavier weights – got ya. In all seriousness, steppers are brutal but only if you don’t cling to the rails. It’s like high incline treadmill walking – people cling to the rail and brag about how many calories they vaporised. Errr, you have barely broken a sweat.

Yes Haider, everything is looking spot on my man. I can see why Jordan’s happy! I don’t know about you, but some check ins I think ‘jeez, I look like shite’ but then Corinne’s feedback is ‘you’re looking spot on’. Sometimes way too harsh on myself. That is why it’s great to have that objective pair of eyes.
Some superb progression being made on your lifts as well. Not bad for a physique guy eh?
Oooooo, your supps have arrived. Going to need to order some new plates in that case. Who knows, maybe you’ll even progress on the smith incline press haha. Thinking about it, probably need to take the whole tub for that movement!
Can’t believe it’s your surgery next week bud, that’s come around quick! Don’t know anyone directly who has had hernia surgery, but like any injury just give it time and when it feels better, give it a bit longer. Sounds really obvious, almost patronising but people rush too quickly back into training after any trauma. Better to give it an additional 2-4 weeks, rather than end up losing 6 months. I know you’re a sensible guy and will listen to the aftercare. Then with the green light, it’s grow time!
Good luck with the leg session tomorrow. Not that you’ll need it fuelled by Sustain and MPS!

Soooo, fantastic Pull session today – absolutely nailed it! Last time I did rack pulls with 236kg for 8, this time around it was 240kg for 9 followed by a set of 230kg for 9. Really happy with that, but absolutely floored me for the rest of the session. Any form of dead makes you feel, well dead. Also managed 70kg a side on the hammer strength low row for 12 so again, smashed it.
Push session on the cards tomorrow and I’m eyeing up the 45kg dbs for high incline press. Going to see if the left shoulder wants to play ball, if not 40kgs it is. Still not back on the 50kg dbs for incline press just yet, but each week it is feeling more and more comfortable (if comfortable is grinding out agonising reps, then one more for luck). Really glad I listened to my body a few months back and just trained with movements that didn’t flare my shoulder impingement. Tried to be a hero and work through the pain, but wondered why it wasn’t getting better. Stupid I know and really obvious, but it is surprising how many people have fallen victim to this way of thinking.
Non bodybuilding related I’m going to see Shrek the musical tomorrow. I’m sure it’ll rival Wicked or the Lion King, but I’ll report back. It’ll be some nice quality time with the OH. I’m sure it’ll be a good all round family romp and a good laugh. As long as there’s a Scottish ogre, I’m happy.

Thanks for the well wishes Haider. Nine years has absolutely flown by, but couldn’t picture them with anyone else – definitely my soulmate. Awww, aren’t I a sap.
Nice choices – added to the list. Let the education continue! My confession is I have never watched any of the Rocky films. Is there any testosterone folwing through my body!?
Yeah it was weird, wouldn’t let me attach photos as file size was too big. I’m not a techie, but I’m sure a JPEG isn’t too big for this site. Will try again, just for you Haider!
Hahaha not at all I’m in the same boat! 9 years too! Not sure how she’s put up with me for so long tbf. Haha. Never watched a Rocky film!! Wtf! Get it on! That’s a proper classic ! Tag me in them on Instagram bud if you like
Haha we both definitely have a keeper in that case. Bodybuilders are not the easiest – we’re essentially big children with muscles. We need to eat, sleep and be nurtured.
I know, I know it’s terrible. I forgot, I did see Rocky Balboa years ago at the cinema but not one of the originals. Only saw Die hard a couple of years back too.
Cheers for the offer, but don’t have Insta. Don’t even have a smartphone. Couple of weeks ago Ryan asked me to film one of his sets so had to remind him I don’t even have a camera and had to borrow someone’s phone haha. I’ll find a way to get some pics up if it kills me though. The OH took the check in pics tonight and I am pretty damn pleased with 23 weeks to go!

I can’t add anything additional that hasn’t already been said by countless individuals and Jordan himself, but I’m soooo sick of seeing these negative comments. Some may labelled as ‘feedback’ but quite frankly, they’re just complaints that don’t stack up especially when you haven’t even tried the product. It’s like Amazon when people review a product as one star because the postman didn’t deliver their parcel and they had to pick up from the neighbour. Absolutely nothing to do with the product but impacts the rating.
Jordan and the Team have put so much time and devotion into creating the very best, repeatedly citing ‘we using premium sources… they aren’t cheap etc.’ Just put yourself in their shows and what is seen as ‘constructive’ feedback is insulting what they have created. Instead of ranting about the price, maybe twist the comment ‘product looks amazing and would love to try it, but currently a bit outside of my price range. Will be sure to treat myself one day.’ Same kind of feedback, rather than just bashing the price over and over.
Guess there are two choices – if you really want to give the products a whirl and report back, then save your pennies and treat yourself when the time is right. I’m sure it’ll be worth the investment. Second option is to become a TrainedbyJP athlete, which quite frankly, I think you’ve burned your bridges with that one so option one it is!
On another note, bloody hell JP – this has got to be one of your best preps to date! Just everything is clicking and your physical/mental state is different. You seem… calmer. You’re always focused and driven, but that air of quiet calm. You must have a reaaalllyyy good coach 😉 Not long until you shock the world!!

Definitely agree with you there. Homemade and with a bit of heart and soul always makes the difference. We have a lovely French patisserie near us and a hot chocolate café – both very good! Speaking of cakes, how’s the baking going? Made any delightful treats recently?
Amazing strength as always – those are some very big girl poundages. Barely see any guys go for those weights and I lift in a bodybuilding gym. You’ll have to try out the 75s in Primitive at this rate 😉 Density is definitely showing. Oh, the best package is coming alright!

Ah well, still too big – what a pain. Will look into it another time as obviously want to showcase the changes as they unfold.
Soooo, got my 225kg on the reverse hack squat for 9 reps. Veeerrryyyy happy with that! Been a well deserved rest day today after three days on. No idea how I used to do 3 on, 1 off. Rack pulls tomorrow and eyeing up 240kg for a good set. I know I can do it so just down to myself to execute! Dug out some of JP’s deadlift sessions to provide the motivation. You forget just how many videos are in the back catalogue and it’s always interesting to see how far JP has come, both physically and mentally. And of course, seeing Corinne’s staggering progress from plate loader to ass kicking amateur and ultimately pro.
Rest day has involved me trying to get my MP3 player to work. Nightmare as the computer will only charge it and not as a mass storage device – not handy. Worked fine the first I synced it up, but now computer does not recognise. Formatted the player and lost all my music on there so currently have a rather pricy FM transmitter. May have to hit up my more techie friends as getting no-where with the Google solutions. Weird hearing the real world for what it is!
