I think there was some research on omegas and depression/anxiety.
The doses need to be very high from memory, I was on 8 omcor fish oils a day, these are pharma quality.
It’s something worth looking into for sure (although the biggest effect may be lifestyle/social factors).

Two push days (one shoulder dominant, one chest dominant)
One pull day
One leg day (possibly some extra arm work here also)
Those are my thoughts, others I’m sure will have different approaches though!

When returning from training gains will be made easily on the logbook imo. This may be largely neurological.
Imo I would look at all relevant factors-
– recovery between sessions may be taking longer
– how are cals? You may need to increase food
– set up of training and volumeI actually quite enjoy it when progressions gets harder. Needs more attention to detail (especially factors from outside the gym ie sleep, recovery, food etc)

What sort of duration would you run say 50mg var pre only? (Just researching here)
I was thinking 10-12 weeks would be sensible given would only be taking it 3-4 times a week? Or could it be run longer?

As others have said, getting up heavy dumbells into position are a nightmare! Seems to take a lot of energy in itself.
I like smith personally.

The 5×5 may just be a top set of 5 or include a number of warmup sets.
