Trained at his gym in Denton many moons ago. Was kind of a hub for bodybuilding at the time..
Back then he was getting more into training boxers, he had a ring out the back of the gym where Ricky Hatton was training.
He seems to have fully transitioned into training boxers now and is also a highly regarded cut man iirc
I can’t picture him doing bodybuilding type coaching at this time

I think the important distinction is progressive overload v beating the log book approach.
Powerlifting programs will use the progressive overload principles, in that you will be handling more weight over time. As a whole though they take a different approach for weekly progression than in a beating log book fashion.
So it’s just a different approach based on two different sports/objectives.

What do the tests involve exactly?
I would analyse the tests and build a routine based on excelling in those. It will help your selection case to be known as one of the fittest there.
Having said that, maximal physical strength and size to a certain degree would be beneficial to a tactical role.
So maybe a full body or upper lower.
Balancing recovery is likely to be important when pushing fitness and bodybuilding/strength goals. So diet, sleep and rest may need to be more dialled in.

In London, upwards of £100 maybe.
Like many things, I think you can make an excellent living if you are good at it.
I think the ones who are successfully financially run it like a business rather than just offering a service. So marketing is crucial.

For me personally I couldn’t train at a David Lloyd. There’s more to a gym than equipment, atmosphere is equally important.
If it’s better overall kit + others on the same mission, I’d opt for that (over a gym not designed for bodybuilding but has a specific leg machine).
