Hi Cal,
What would you suggest for very stubborn calves? I’ve tried various methods for periods without any results.
Seems like whatever I do, they just won’t grow.
I know there’s a large genetic element, but I would really appreciate any ideas to make them at least look somewhat normal!

Depends on your personal biomechanics and form to a certain extent…
Many people built decent chest with flat bench, but they tend to be predisposed to responding well. Typically built to be good bench pressers ie barrel chest and shorter arms…
For me flat bench is a good tricep builder if you take a moderate grip and decent for front delts with some chest tie in.
Dips are a great overall strength builder in the upper body. I find them good for hitting chest, some shoulders and triceps.
Ideally for chest though, you want to make sure you’re covering a few different angles- many prefer incline or a slight incline.
Ultimately chest gains will be dependant on finding exercises you connect with well, and progressively overloading over time.

I’m also really excited to be training legs again! Haven’t been able to train them properly for a number of years due to on going injuries.
Leg day is all about pushing up the numbers on the cybex hack and pendulum

As I get older I care less and less, you have to be selective about whose opinion you value and listen to (in all aspects of life not just training).
Look at when any Olympian bodybuilder posts a progress photo on Instagram, I guarantee a good portion will either be negative… It’s the nature of people.
We all do this ultimately for ourselves, so don’t listen to any negativity. It’s usually jealousy or insecurity poorly disguised.

Don’t hold on. It makes a huge amount of difference to how much you’re actually working.
You’ll get the balance down with practice
