Stephen although I do agree with clare , I still think that’s a cop out for people , people miscalculate WAY before genetic variation comes into play , WAY WAY WAY before . Imo , genetic inter individualality comes into play when we wonder why Phil Heath at his best ever gets so peeled but Ramy doesn’t get quite as peeled – that is genetic variation of low caloric intake at play
I completely agree with this. The genetic issue is seldom relevant and energy balance is by far the most important factor.
The reason I liked Clares answer is because she highlighted that calories in vs calories out is the main factor, however it is not the only one. Hormones play an important role too, otherwise why do steroids work?
For example, somebody experienced to a novel stimulus can recomp without manipulating energy balance. Imagine we have lifter X who is at maintenance and eating 3200 calories per day and following a specific training program. “Lifter X”, keeps all training variables the same, except starts using steroids. Let’s say this leads to their training intensity increasing and other factors mean they now burn 3500 calories per day. If they eat 3500 calories per day, we would still expect them to get leaner.
Would this be an example of energy balance not dictating fat loss?
OR
Would it be that the increase in energy demands from increased protein synthesis greatly exceeded 3500 calories, and their body prioritised adipose tissue to meet these demands?

I used to have this issue too. Over time your body adapts to it and you’re able to grind out more reps in the second set.
Look at it as a current weak spot which has potential for vast improvement. That should excite you, as that vast improvement will reflect in your physique!

Clare hit the nail on the head with her answer!

I guess this depends on a few things:
-How much body fat needs to come off?
-How long until your show?Have you asked him why calories have been brought down after a 4lb drop?
-
I notice water retention when using it

Can you write out your diet?

The focus on blood work on this site should be applauded.
However, I think the overall harm of steroids has began to be downplayed over the past 5-10 years.
Most blokes who use them think that blasting and cruising is healthy, or that the overall harm is minimal.
Even TRT puts our normal hormonal rhythm out of balance. This is just an example of one thing that is seldom spoke about.

MemberMarch 19, 2022 at 6:35 pm in reply to: Anabolic steroids and water retentionThere are so many factors that can play a role here. The obvious health decision is to not take steroids.
Obviously if you choose to take steroids then you can be selective about types and dosages.
Maximise the factors you can control. Nutrition, sleep, cardio.

MemberMarch 18, 2022 at 9:09 pm in reply to: Anabolic steroids and water retentionI have a similar experience with steroids. Last cycle I ran 100 test, 200 mast and 400 primo per week.
Was lean with visible veins in my abs. Yet my face still ballooned and I developed GI problems.
I think that taking steroids is pro inflammatory for a lot of us. Maybe it’s largely the carrier oils?

Agree with the above. Personally I don’t feel right with eggs nor nut butters.

Agree with everyone else. Start with 20 minutes. Exactly what I do.

I agree with the others that using a bit of anavar will see a nice response. It may not be a strong androgen, however it is great for exposing your muscles to higher loads (increased mechanical tension). For this reason I think you should see some growth after 10 months trt!

All I would recommend is for them to prioritise their health.
Stop running cycles, limit processed foods, make cardio part of their lifestyle.

It’s not crap compared to the average person.
Why don’t you post your training plan and diet on the forums, then you can get some feedback on how to progress?

Sorry, I meant to say the pain moved into my upper back and left shoulder for a while.
