As the guys have said I’d only use the bfr on the leg extension. Hope your knees get better and better bud. I’d defo dose up on cure coming and join in

Hey man
Any clues as to why the knees are fucked ?
Tight muscle ? Execution ? Exercise selection ?

Hey kuba, yeah been suffering with quad tendonopathy for good few years now! Just wont go away, literally tried everything! At one point couldn’t train legs at all, so I suppose I gotta be thankful now! Have had a decent response from prp treatment though! Just had my last one 4 weeks ago, and since adding in join in for a few months it’s probably best my knees have felt, still not better though

Hey stu, I say if you can leg press then do that without BFR & then leg extensions use BFR .
Can you do any squat variation, I’d so I’d do a paused version (maybe 5 sec in the hole) obviously very light or no weight at all. These helped me when my knee was fucked.
With Treatments on top and jp’s join in joint supplement

Hey Oscar I tried some smith squats actually with a pause! Felt pretty good but last rep felt my knee tweak so will put them back in in another few weeks!
And will stick to bfr just on quads, thanks mate!

I personally don’t like the idea of doing cardio post weight training, particularly HIIT. Once you’re done with your session, the priority is rest and recovery.
Either try to fit in some form of cardio away from your sessions, do more on rest days or reduce your food. At the end of the day cardio is implemented to create more of a deficit, so if adding in more cardio isn’t feasible, then reduce what you’re eating.

This would be an instance where I think banded work would be useful to help you to progress. Also tapping into some higher rep work along side your 8-10s.

Yeah give that a go alongside some higher rep work. Spend some time warming your knees too and maybe start your sessions with an isolation exercise. Aside from this, keep on top of soft tissue work. You could also get a massage gun and work around the knee area pre session.

Hi Claire yeah I normally do one Hamm exercise then light leg extensions, when I remember I do cross friction on tendon, but I have been looking at the guns on amazon, any recommendations maybe? Thanks again!
Instead of added weight i would try to make the reps harder. Maybe use pre exhaustion, longer tut, slow negatives, band tension, peak contractions etc

Yeah deffo Michael cheers sounds like a plan!

Have you tried wearing knee sleeves?

Hi meg yeah I wear em, and half a bottle of Kwan oil on aswell ????
Oh gosh they are my life savers with my knee! I’ve found doing low weight single leg work to build up my quad again because even if you don’t think you have with this type of injury there will be a slight imbalance and some muscle
wastage – if you build that leg up with single leg work you may find it’s less niggly next time you try to go fully ham ????
Yeah good advice meg today session actually did a good few movements unilaterally, felt great as my left quad is smaller!

I think I would work in a higher rep range in this case. Still aim to progress lifts but just work in the 15-20 rep range. I also believe legs respond well to higher rep ranges from previous experience
