Like JDH says, it creeps up on you. I notice it first on my MR sets if I move to Tier III. I basically don’t want to get out of the car before lower body muscle rounds. Because I have a somewhat active job Tier II allows me to take the longest most productive blast.

Ric is app on here. I love dB shoulder presses though too. I really love going what I consider heavy 120+. Nobody like to hand these to you in the gym for three rest pause sets and I can’t swing them so I just do these like Fortitude Training load sets. I do just two sets. One very heavy and one back off.

Is your intensity high? Are you progressing your weights? If you are brand new to training then I could see this as being the case, but since you are on here I am assuming that you have been training a while.

Personally, I think that Dusty has done an amazing job to reach his genetic potential. I do think that it depends. Ronnie had lose form on his movements and had one of the best backs in the sport. I think that even someone with subpar genetic structure could simply work heavy back thickness exercises and put on a tremendous amount of mass on the back.
I would say that these guys may have a better mind muscle connection then most so that even when form is loose, they are engaging the correct muscles. That being said, I have never met someone that could Barbell row over 365 lbs with even loose form that had a weak/small back.

If you are progressing on your lifts and body weight then I wouldn’t change anything. I personally hate the term bulk. You are committed to a longer sustained period of being in a caloric surplus.

I hurt my shoulder (doing heavy reverse grip Bench) while doing a DC three way split precontest. Anyone who knows DC, knows that basically the pull day is worthless at that point. So I switched to a John Meadows program and it was easy to train around the injury and burn a crazy amount of calories which worked well precontest. I would never do a program off season as I favor a much lower volume heavy, progressive overload approach myself but precontest it worked great and allowed me to work around a significant injury.

Jordan has a video about 1st cycle advice that is the best advice you can give. As a guy who has been cycling for years, his advice is spot on. Just find the video.

I wouldn’t set an alarm. I would just take when I piss. Also, you can go with casein or just when with a tablespoon of olive oil, or macadamia nut oil. The oil will slow down digestion. Put the protein right on the top of the toilet so you don’t forget when you wake up in a fog. If you live alone, I would put it right on the toilet lid. If you are getting a gallon of water a day, then there is no way that you won’t piss. If you aren’t getting at least that much water in a day than you are doing a diservice to your bodybuilding goals.
