Keep the strength gains you’ve made, this will in turn help keep the muscle added. Depending how high your volume was whilst on cycle you could reduce slightly to aid recovery now on cruise, or hold back from absolute all out failure on everything. Leave maybe a rep in reserve on some exercises. Again, helps with recovery whilst on cycle.

Rest day. Went out with Jess to do some Sunday jobs (food shop and B&Q visit) then went off for Sunday lunch.
Spent the rest of the afternoon watching a documentary about the former NFL player Aaron Hernandez. Very interesting.
Off back to derby this evening ready for a busy week ahead. Some big changes with work, exciting new chapter.

Delts and arms at kings gym this morning. Good session. Didn’t have much issues with pressing today as I normally do. I think switching a few exercises in other sessions will help. Moving more towards machines and using cuffs will help to stop aggravating the issue.
Referring back to the need for more erector development we have decided to replace hex bar deficit deadlifts with regular deficit deadlifts. And chest supported DB rows replaced with another machine row. Don’t be afraid to switch exercises if you aren’t feeling them. More than one way to skin a cat as they say.

Try adding some fasted cardio in morning. Pull back on carbs slightly , just keep around workout and replace other carb meals with protein and fats. Should do the trick. That’s what I’ve found has been the case post comp after a week of eating.

Rest day today. Plenty of work done in the office as always. Nice busy month , hopefully a sign of the year ahead.
So Jordan has suggested a few exercises are changed to engage erector area more. Chest supported DB row and hex bar deads aren’t helping develop density as we would like so going to switch these. Not decided what yet but likely tbar row will go in as I get on well with this. But in honesty I’m not very clued up on what will work as an alternative so I just leave it to Jordan. I know a lot about mortgages, that’s about it ha!!

I’ve not really felt any different to be honest but it’s more the benefits of what’s going on under the surface.

Check in today. Bodyweight 234.4 lbs again. Jordan pleased with how thickness is improving but more back density is needed and more lat width from the front was the feedback. Training will most likely be adjusted to allow for these areas to be progressed.
Today’s session was pull and hams. Good session and all lifts progressed. Finding recovery between sets is needing to be longer now. Partly fitness and partly due to load being moved increasing for exercises. As long as recovery between sessions is good that’s fine, if this suffers then adjusting volume would be required.

Depending on how much you have to take off in bodyfat will determine how much cardio is needed. But you could start with say 3-4 days direct cardio for 20-30mins per session fasted and increase from there. But then you may not need it due to current condition and demands of your job and could possibly get away with just daily steps increasing each week.

Session today filmed for site. Push with Jamie. Followed Jamie’s session as he’s prepping so best for him to stick to plan. I’m off-season so the odd session changed isn’t an issue.
Pressing is still shit lol. Did best I could and didn’t let ego take over. If I can only press 2 plates then that’s all I can press. No point making the issue worse then it wrecks the session. I’ll be sticking to cuff movements for anything that involves a side raise or machine. DB or holding a handle just doesn’t work.www.trainedbyjpclothing.com - The most anabolic clothing ever! |

Tried switching training to 4:30pm to see what difference it makes to my day and the session itself. Answer – NEVER AGAIN!!!! Gym was packed, cut into my day too much, hardly any of the evening left. Tried it, won’t be changing from mornings lol.
Session was still decent and progressed lifts but just felt more drained after the working day. Another benefit of training first thing, fresher.
Hack squat was progressed from 185kg for 7 to 200kg for 7 after a set of 165kg for 12. Then did a final set of 180kg for 9.
Lower back keeps pumping up crazy though so it’s fucking the sessions a bit like after jacks was paused leg press so just had to rep it with no pause due to lower back.Food shop and food prep tonight , wild nights !!
