Depends how lean you are and what look you’re wanting.
If you want to be leaner push on. If not, maintain where you’re at. Most people eat and drink too much of the wrong things on holiday or just too much in general. Try keep it clean say 50% of the day at least. And keep well hydrated. That’ll help with water retention and the back pumps.

One of my mates does this and has had really good results. As long as volume isn’t mega high you’ll be sound.

I wouldn’t increase volume. You could split the sessions into more of a bro split like Monday – legs, Wednesday – chest and triceps Friday – back and biceps , Sunday shoulders. Just pick say 6 exercises and hit 2 sets of 10-12 reps keeping a couple reps shy of failure. This should see you recover nicely. If you’re feeling beat up after the first week of Deload then 2nd week id advise just complete rest.

Chest and arms. Shit session. Issue with pressing on left side couldn’t press at all. Tried switching from DB to machine but same issue. Left wrist is fucked after breaking and dislocating it and had to have it pinned as a result got crap movement in it so can’t bend like the other one. This in turn affects holding DB’s , and pain when pressing often. Because I try and compensate for it I get issue with shoulder and back. Annoying but nothing I can do as it’s pinned into that position now.

Take a look at different federation Instagram accounts and drop a few people a message who have competed in different federations and then see which you think suits you best.

Legs and back was a good one today. Did this session at kings gym last time so had markers to beat. All lifts progressed. Strength should start to climb week on week now the new cycle has started.

I was on 50mcg and dropped this to 25mcg post show. Been on this since the show mid October.

Tim, you run T3 year around? (so at natural levels too)
I haven’t done previously but this time it’s been kept in. For how much longer I don’t know. But if you were looking to come off you could try tapering for day 4-6 weeks at half dose and then come off.

Great session with Louis, big Damian and Max down at Kings Gym Croydon today. Delts and arms. Bit of a issue with left side when pressing but will have some treatment with Aaron in a week or so and sort it out. Couldn’t work out of lifts were progressed or not as kit was different but everything to failure.

Was due to go TrainedbyJP team xmas meal this evening but the Mrs isn’t well so staying to look after her. Boyfriend duties and earn some brownie points lol. But on a serious note it’s times like that where you have to put others first. Your partner will support you and make sacrifices when it’s comp prep time so when they need you I believe you should always be there.

Rest day today so just Mortgage work for clients in the day. Nipped out for a coffee with Jess as I go a bit crazy sat in the house all day.
Off out this evening with Louis to play some pool and chill. Good to have a social life outside of the gym as keeps you grounded and in touch with reality as bodybuilding world can be a bit of a bubble away from ‘normal’ life. A lot of my close friends don’t even go to the gym never mind bodybuilders. As long as they still motivate you I don’t see any reason not to socialise with people outside of bodybuilding. As I say, broadens your mind and views.

Took me a while but just fully caught up with your logic great stuff!
Ever since i saw the video about you doing early morning workouts due to your job etc it struck a chord with me as it’s the only time I can train, (office gym, actually very decent, but high pressure job then wanting to spend the evening with the family). I’m by no means in the shape you are but it shows what. An still be achieved when you also have a very demanding, long hours job.
How do you work out your training split? Is it just 2 rotations, similar rep ranges for both?
Hi Joe, glad you can relate. And I would say ALWAYS put your job and family first. They are the most important things.

As for training now it’s set across 4 days – mon, tues, thurs and fri. Mon – legs and back, Tues – chest and arms, Thurs – back and hamstrings, Sat – Delts and triceps.

Rep ranges vary – 6-8, 7-9, 11-12, 13-15, 20, rest pauses. It depends what the exercise is and where it’s placed in the workout. Usually there is a heavy set of 7-9 then a back off set of 11-12 for the ‘main’ movements.

Ask yourself how bad you want to make changes and improvements.

Give yourself say xmas day and Boxing Day as off plan but don’t binge. Food will always be there. As for having a “fuck it” attitude now I’m not sure why you would have that attitude as it’s not Christmas yet. Does that mean if you were going to eat off plan whilst on a weeks holiday you would sack off diet and training a few weeks before?

If you don’t want to compete and are happy with small changes over time then as long as 75% of the time you are eating healthy and exercising then that’s fine. If you are wanting to compete and achieve results then I personally would stick to plan and only come off this for a very short period (2 days at xmas, or a weeks holiday but make healthy choices). It’s a lifestyle. If you see it as ‘diet’ all year round you’ll struggle.
