So just watched it and firstly it would be interesting to know what studies these facts and figures are being based on. It doesn’t actually state the study.
Secondly as Clare says there’s a lot that’s cherry picked. It’s easy to focus purely on the pro’s but you have to give the cons. It wasn’t a balanced comparison as it was weighted mostly at benefits of plant based and animal protein being bad.
Would be interesting to watch one where it promotes animal protein so people can see both sides.

So today was first check in post comp. bodyweight was 222.3 lbs on wake. Weight has increased by just under 15 lbs from show day morning but still very lean. Jordan took at look at pictures sent and immediately said more food is needed and 2 ‘off plan’ meals at the weekend. This doesn’t mean eat crap it means eat good foods but eat enough to be full. I’ll be heading to spend some time with my parents Saturday so will have one of the meals with them which will be a beef casserole with mashed potato. The other meal will be on Sunday and will probably be something like stir fry salmon with Thai rice or homemade turkey burger with sweet potato wedges. Food had been increased as well so I’ll post the plan in the diet section.
Great day at work today too, really busy and got a lot done. Got me very motivated for the session ahead.
Session today was Pull and hamstrings rotation 2. And deadlifts were in. Deadlifts were eccentric dead’s so 3 seconds on the eccentric, no resetting the weight at the bottom so just slight touch and explode up recruiting the quads. This was 1 x 9-10 reps, increase weight and do 1×6-8 reps, drop weight and do 1×15-20 reps. First time doing this and numbers were 180kg for 7, 180kg for 6, 100kg for 14. When I revisit this session I’ll do 170kg first set, 180kg second set and 100kg final set.
At the start of any programme there’s always the first sessions where you establish the weight. Sometimes you go too light, some too heavy. Log it and adjust for the next time the session comes around.
I always spoke with Jordan about plans for next year as it’s now changed following the result at PCA finals. I’ve decided to do PCA finals again next year rather than taking all of next year out. I feel I’m not as far off taking a first place spot and overall as initially thought. I’m also considering a 2bros show which Jordan is in favour of too. So we work HARD as ever and shoot for prep starting June time.

Depending on what you’re having with them you could always do them day before and make into oat bars by putting them in freezer over night. So if you’re having whey, oats and nut butter just use a small amount of water, mix in a bowl until a thick consistency. Put onto a baking tray and leave in freezer. Sorted.

Rest day today. Really busy with work so was able to do a long day in the office and catch up with some bits I’d put to one side during peak week. I absolutely love my job and doing it self employed was the best thing I did. Having a job that’s completely separate to the fitness/bodybuilding world works for me personally as I get to switch off for a period of time. Then as soon as it’s time for a session I’m mentally fresh for it and hungry AF!!
I do find one compliments the other too. And there’s a lot I’ve applied to my day job from bodybuilding and visa versa. Both require dedication and commitment and the ability to keep pushing for more each day.
Had a bit of a sinus infection the last week too so it’s been good today to rest to give it chance to clear up more. On some antibiotics from the docs and seem to be doing a job. Few more days and be back to myself again.
Got Pull and Hamstrings tomorrow. Deadlifts are back in too !!

Some choose to do it for health purposes and to help with appetite. 20/30 mins a day would be enough, or do it on rest days only. It’s more a preference thing than a necessity offseason.

Class session today at strength asylum with Nathan Robinson over at Strength Asylum in Stoke. Top gym and well worth going if you haven’t. Been a few times now and always a wicked atmosphere and great range of kit.
Chest session today as chest has its own day now in the plan as got to bring it up a lot. Dumbbell presses and smith machine presses were the chunky movements. Need to get strong on these which will happen, but the execution and form has to be right from the start. Don’t want to build on poor foundations.
Was a big boost having Nathan with me for the session as he’s a strong presser so was good to get some tips and watch him in action. Will be getting more sessions together there whilst I’m back in derby a couple days each week as it’s only 40 mins to the gym so worth the trip.
Rest day tomorrow and busy day in the office so time for sleep now.

Just got to dig in deep and be strong mentally. Food will come back in after dieting phase is done. The reward is way tastier then any food right now. Avoid adding diet drinks and ‘calorie free’ stuff if you’ve not been having it before the diet. It all adds up.

Headed back to Derby early this morning as need to be at the office up here this week due to being away last few weeks in London. Gives me chance to catch up with everything and see colleagues. Also get to see friends and family and enjoy some time with them.
Trained Legs and back rotation 2 session (workouts posted on log). Really good session and connected well with every exercise. Looking forward to progressing the lifts and seeing what changes can be made. Conscious not to just chase the weight but to maintain solid form throughout and really feel the targeted muscle working.

Depending on budget I’ve used the Well Man test from medichecks before and covered what I’ve needed.
Or there’s the DL2L test from youth revisited and then add any extras on. Might work out cheaper.

Woke up feeling even more motivated than ever before after yesterday. Just being around others with the same mindset and drive to be the very best gives an energy like no other. Surround yourself with positive people and positive things will happen.
Met Oscar for breakfast this morning. Great to just relax after the show preps and enjoy the company. After this we went to Spitalfields Market for a look around and see if there was any bits for the apartment. Always liked Spitalfields area so was nice to just chill there.
Headed back to the apartment about 6ish for food prep for week ahead and pack stuff for coming back to derby for the next week. I’ll be working from one of my offices for the next week as got a lot to do coming towards the end of the month and need to be around my administrator for a lot of it. Will head back to London on the Sunday. I’ve always liked to be prepared for the week ahead so putting time aside Sunday evening to organise myself helps with this. Means I’m not entering the new week trying to play catch up.

Wicked day with some of the team who were at Gym Beast Supplement Store in Croydon doing a meet and greet. Spoke to a number of people about the TrainedbyJP range and it was great to see people really understanding the importance of investing in good quality products rather than buying cheap shitty supplements just because of a fancy label or insta famous person pushing a product that actually does nothing for you.
We went to kings gym after for a workout. I did chest rotation 1 from the new plan to feel out the movements and again, the whole session is perfectly planned out by way of exercise selection and placement in the workout. Really looking forward to getting stuck in to these sessions and progressing lifts.
Had the evening with Louis, Oscar, my partner Jess and Louis partner. Nice to relax and share life experiences and get to know each other more. Very fortunate to have such positive people in my life. Really makes a difference to your outlook.
Tomorrow I’ll head to Oscars hotel for breakfast as they do salmon and eggs which fits with my first meal on plan. After that me and Jess are heading to a market in central London with Louis and his Mrs. Nice chilled Sunday to end the weekend.

I prefer to leave carbs for meals 2, 3, 4 and 5 when I’m more active in the day. But if say you train last thing in the evening you could try having them with first meal the day after training.

Up at 7am this morning for a walk before first meal. Grabbed a coffee from the village on the way back. Always nice to start the day getting some fresh air and plan the day ahead and what needs to be done in what order.
Still hadn’t quite shifted the blocked sinuses and chesty cough I’d had since last week so picked some stronger medicine up from pharmacy and seems to be doing the job. Should be back to feeling my normal self tomorrow in time for the session at Kings Gym with the team coming for the shop meet and greet.
Didn’t train today and just got caught up with Mortgage work and chilled at the apartment. Headed to Tooting Indoor Market this evening with James Louis and Haider, played some pool and then had some food. Great evening with some solid lads. Really enjoy spending time with good people.
Looking forward to the shop meet and greet tomorrow. Picking Oscar up from the tube station and heading there in the morning.

Dean this is all very normal on prep/dieting. Hormones are all over the place due to the drugs used if assisted, and if not assisted just the low body fat, being in a deficit, lack of sleep etc will affect how the brain functions and processes things.
Keep yourself as busy as possible. Keep from being in the house alone whenever possible. I find that helps.
As for trestolone James and Louis did a video on this. James had to stop using it. So I’d drop this out._________________________________________

Hi Tim. It could be a number of things as I’m having some problems in my personal life at the moment. I’m useing 15mg of trestalone a day , 50mg anavar and t5s. I did up the trestalone to 20mg at one stage but was too much so lowered it back down [/quote]
