PCA and NABBA are both good feds. You’ll be well looked after. Depending on what category you’re doing too as in bodybuilding, muscle model, men’s physique etc I’d also recommend Next Fitness Model run by Suki Hayer. They offer muscle model and men’s physique.

First day over in Panarea. Boat over from Sicily was a nightmare journey as the sea was crazy choppy and had sea sickness bad. On dry land and normal service was resumed. All meals as normal today apart from evening meal which was steak and pizzas as that’s what the brides family had arranged at a local restaurant.

Off to bed now so will be up early for a walk around the island and dip in the sea. No matter the weather I have to get in the sea at some point. Holiday rules. Then it’s the wedding in the afternoon.

Let’s say blood work is done Wednesday, id train Monday morning and then have blood work done fasted Wednesday morning. Make sure you’re well hydrated between training and having bloods done. I’ve always done this and bloods have come back fine.

Day spent getting ready for the trip to Italy for my friends wedding. Stopping down in Luton and then getting a 6am flight. Meals have been packed for tomorrow so will be able to stick 100% to plan. Then for Monday Tuesday and Wednesday I’ve worked macros out for each meal and chosen foods that are easy to transport that will match these. Obviously wedding day I’ll eat the foods that are provided as I like to get involved properly. Obviously if I was on prep things would be different.

No training now until Thursday so plenty of rest time.

We can get away with a couple of sessions in a row typically without hindering performance. However over a longer period of time this may become tougher the more demanding the sessions get.

There is a lot to be said for instinctive training and if you feel you can go again then do it. If you feel beat up and you’re meant to train then take an extra rest. Training templates are there as a guide however you know your body best.

Had a light push session this morning.

    – db shoulder press
    – low incline db press
    – close grip smith press
    – pec dec
    – seated side laterals
    – rope push downs
    – seated db preacher curls
    – rope curl
    – abs

Off to Italy Sunday morning until Thursday so will rest tomorrow until Thursday. Spoken with Jordan about this and will follow diet as closely as possible, not under eat but no over eating. There’s no gym out there as it’s a tiny island and I’m just taking whatever basic food I can as no cooking facility as staying in a hotel for mates wedding. Hotel won’t let me use facilities and won’t cook my foods.

Will just relax out in Italy and enjoy the time there with friends. No need to stress with these kind of things. Unless you’re prepping for show a few days off can actually be beneficial and help you relax and refresh as I’ve found this week already.

Hi Mike. There’s not a huge difference I don’t think. Not worked it out as I just follow the orders from Jordan. Carbs are higher training day vs non training day.

I’ve trained both early morning and evening and have found that as long as recovery and sleep are both bang on then it has no difference to my training. However, if training early id say you want to be up a couple hours before the session to allow your body to wake up, get hydrated, get food in you and then have time for it to settle.

But with regards to performance there’s pros and cons to training early or late. Ultimately you go in and give it EVERYTHING. I’ve progressed training at both times but you’ll find what suits you best. Me personally I prefer morning as it’s less busy in the gym, I don’t have the stresses of a day at work making me mentally tired and at weekends I have the rest of the day free.

Nice pull session today down at Santinos gym in Derby, only about 2 min drive from my house. Really compact and got everything you need. Its owned and run by Kim Santino who’s been a very successful amateur bodybuilder for many years now and still competing at 60 years of age. Nice to have a gym like this so close to home that supports bodybuilding.

So the session was done at 75% again, just enough to get blood pumping.

    – high row machine
    – rack deads
    – lat pull down
    – chest supported machine row
    – prone rear delt DBs
    – standing single arm DB curls
    – standing calf raise

Today was also check in day. Weight up from last week. Sitting at 238.0 lbs. Jordan is pleased with how things are looking so that’s all I can ask for. Great thing with Jordan is he doesn’t blow smoke up your arse. So if you do get a compliment you know its genuine.

Tomorrow will be a light push session.

If your responding to them with arms slightly bent then keep going. As long as the muscle is being worked and you’re growing and developing then don’t change it. You can try with straight arms and if you feel this works even better then switch. But typically if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

With regards to other variations you can try a leaning single arm DB or cable side raise. Other than that I find just keeping it simple works best.

Rested today. Felt good from yesterday’s leg session. Nice to pump some blood to the muscles.

I found that before this rest/deload period started I had become more and more tired, like getting up in the morning was becoming harder and I was sleeping all the time. Big tell tale sign that it was needed. I’m finding it easy again to get up in the morning again now and not needing naps.

Tomorrow I’ll hit a lighter pull session. Always hard to resist the urge to hit it hard as you can but just got to keep the bigger picture in mind.

Decided to hit a leg session today as part of the rest/deload week. Was only a light session not going to failure. About 75% of max. I’d felt well rested and needed to train as I do a desk based job so I start to get restless.

I just kept it real simple. 2 sets of 15 reps on the following:

    – seated leg curl
    – v squat
    – smith squat
    – leg extension
    – abductor
    – adductor
    – standing calf raise

Was nice and warm in the gym so got a good sweat and felt fresh as I was training so the rest has done some good.

Will rest tomorrow and then hit an upper session Thursday.
