Well timed rest day today with it being month end at work. Got everything done that needed to be done so will be starting the new month in a good position. As mentioned yesterday I think it’s important to set goals and challenges with your work regardless of whether you’re employed or self employed. It keeps you focussed and driven, well it does for me at least.
Headed over to Ultraflex Rotherham for treatment with mofomechanics. Aaron is superb and I feel is making a difference already after just two sessions. Definitely go check him out if you’re within an hour of the gym.
Staying up near Ultraflex so will hit legs there in the morning around 7am. Will be a tasty one and numbers are getting hit. Everything will go into this as always!!

Hey, I’ve always had a shave about 4 weeks out when at my hairiest. Then let it grow back and do it again the day before comp so I can shower and clean ahead of getting tan done the evening before the show.
If waxing then I’d say a good few days before the show to allow your skin to settle.

Up early this morning to hit push rotation 2. Was a really good session and all weights progressed. I’d had issues with pressing movements but since visiting Aaron at mofomechanics touch wood it seems to be getting a bit better.
I’ve never been a strong presser but nevertheless the weight is going up and I’m getting stronger. This will in turn build muscle. This should then allow for strength to continue to build. Get strong, build muscle. Build muscle, keep getting stronger. Quite simple when you look at it that way. And then this is where the great minds we have access to on this site come into play. Teaching us HOW to get there. Invaluable.
Tomorrow is a rest day and I’m off to see Aaron for more treatment in the afternoon. Before that I’ll be in the office nice and early as it’s last day of the month to submit business for this months figures. Although I’m self employed and I’m only really competing against myself I still like to treat it as though I’m employed as it keeps me competitive and always striving for more. I think the attitude and mindset you have in the gym definitely transfers into the work place, especially when getting fired up for a new month and making the most of every opportunity there is.

Great time on the stag do this weekend. Back to business this afternoon though. Pull session rotation 1 went down. All movements progressed in terms with of weight and/or reps. Shows that you can join in with social occasions and still nail your sessions if you’re sensible and follow the plan as normal.
Back in the office tomorrow and a busy couple of days to end the month ????????

Rest day today which fell nicely for the weekend stag do in Wales. Been a great day with old friends from school days just being big kids again. Always kept my school mates close to me which helps me personally with bodybuilding as it stops me being on my own a lot which I’d find myself doing had I not got these boys around me.
Heading back tomorrow morning as it’s training day. All meals have been kept to plan. You can enjoy life and get involved even when following a diet plan. Just have to be organised and helps when you have understanding and supportive people around you.

I would always have mine on wake as Kuba says and then again about 2ish. I found having any past then messed sleep up too much. Will make zero difference if taken pre and post specifically so would stick to on wake and if on larger dose the the other half mid afternoon

Really good leg session this morning. Set out to hit 7 plates a side on the cybex hack and it got done. Didn’t get the reps numbers I wanted (8-10) but managed to get 4 quality reps out (with a 5th there possibly had I had a spotter for piece of mind). This set me up to really bring it for the rest of the session. Very happy with performance and current situation, as is Jordan after yesterday’s check in.
Currently sat at 238.0lbs and holding decent condition. No changes again as everything is moving in the right direction still. Think I’ll have one final week on current cycle and then drop down onto a cruise dose for 6 weeks before getting bloods done and then beginning prep for October PCA British Finals.
Off to Wales for couple days for a stag do but as always all meals are with me. Won’t miss a beat.

how are you feeling in terms of your current condition and process etc? do you find it harder to not have an imminent comp goal or do you enjoy this phase just as much?

Feel that condition is actually good, and had comments on how I appear relatively lean considering I’m coming towards the end phase of this offseason. I feel this helps in terms of performance and reducing stress on the body. Which in whole can only lead to a healthier looking package come show day.
I enjoy the challenge that offseason brings in terms of increasing strength, and I’ll set myself mini goals throughout to stay focussed. To me it gets treated the same as a comp prep. Everything gets hit with same intensity and I look to get EVERYTHING I can from it.

Depending on recovery capabilities you could always go with the traditional back and bis, chest and tris, legs, delts. Or even have a separate session for arms. Train 3 days, 1 day off. Or 2 on, 1 off.
Lagging body parts you could always tag on at the beginning of a different muscle group session.
To be honest just play around with the volume and muscle groups you train on which days and see what works for you. As long as you progress with strength and grow and develop your physique it’s all good.

Rest day today so lots of work going in at the office. Tend to take advantage of rest days during the week in terms of maximising time in the office so I can spare more time for training days as I like to chill after training. The work still gets done in the office so it’s a good balance.
Mind is on leg day tomorrow now though. Want 7 plates on that hack squat. Will make it happen!!

I think by getting as strong as you can on your main pressing movements will help this (main movements being your shoulder press such as machine, barbell, Smith, DB). Try starting the session with a shoulder pressing movement whilst freshest and then hit a chest movement.

Push session rotation 1 this morning. Push movements have always been weak for me so making a real conscious effort to get these up and get strong (strong for me). Increased all lifts this session so was pleased.
Check in tomorrow with Jordan so will see what the state of play is. Couple more weeks of blast phase of cycle to go so making the most of this.

However, depending on finances if this is not an option then a site like this is perfect as it is constantly monitored by extremely smart people and help is at hand for all your questions. There are a lot of beginner videos to do with comp prep, cycles, what to do after show/cycles etc. I’d advise watching all of these and making notes.

Unfortunately a coach is not really in my budget. I have a buddy who has competed many times who is helping me out and I feel I have a good knowledge of training as I have been doing it for 5 years. For me it is just looking after my health while implementing anabolics where required. I have watched almost every video on this site in depth, I just want to ensure everything is spot on [/quote]
