Day two down at the Arnold’s uk.
That was a long day! A lot of meet and greets and a lot of photos. Pretty tired after that lot but great to meet so many strongman fans!
Finished off the day meeting my fellow TBJP athletes at the pro show meet and great which was awesome.
One more day to go then I can retreat back to being a shut in haha

Day one at the Arnold’s UK.
On the silverback stand all weekend so plenty of standing about meeting people but great to see everyone again after a long time.
Not super busy today at the expo but tomorrow is looking like it is going to be very busy so going to get an early night and make sure o get plenty of sleep for the morning

I would say you need to lock in your lats more.
Really try hard to bend the bar and engage your lats this will help with bracing your spine. Some find this easier to do with an RDL where you start from a upright position.
If you’re struggling to get your lats set at the bottom of the RDL, try going off an elevated block for a while until you are getting in a better start position.
I did a video on some tips on start position for the deadlift over on my IG a while ago.

Rest day today which I spent on the bank fishing.
Took all my food with me so it works really well for me as a rest day. Got back this evening and jumped in the hyperbaric chamber for just over an hour.
Legs again tomorrow with some added tricep work and then a load of meal prep to be done for the Arnold uk.

I’m a big fan of choco peanut butter cup. Goes with all the whey isolate I mix it with.

Another successful upper session today with more small progress on my tricep movements.
Lifts are now at 50% of my non-injured site and progressing well. Started off with my tricep work:
SA Banded Pressdowns 4×10
SA Across body DB Extension 4×10Then onto my push/pull 4×6 on my left and 4×10 with 50% on my right:
Chest Press
Seated DB Press
CG Pulldown
Seated cable row
Cable curl
Cable pressdown (left only)Finished with two sets on the wrist roller to failure.

Some more progress made on my heavy leg day session today.
Nearly managed to miss a business call this morning as I fell asleep in the hyperbaric chamber. Just over an hour in there today along with my usual daily cardio. Here’s how the lower session went:
SSB Squat 240×8 145×20
SSB Goodmornings 145×10
Seated Leg curl 129×12 105×20
Leg Press 500×10 450×20
SSB calf Raise 80×8 (SL) 80×23 (DL) -
No lifting to report today. Got my 45min walking done this morning then spend just over an hour in the hyperbaric chamber again.
Tricep is feeling ok, definitely more soreness around the elbow rather than the muscle belly so activation prior to session will be key this week.
Leg session to look forward to for tomorrow.

Another solid tricep and upperbody session in the bank – started with my tricep isolation work this time which worked much better:
SA banded push downs
SA cross body DB extensions
SA banded cross body extensionsThen moved onto the following with 4×6 for my left side and 4×12 with 40% load for my right:
SA Chest Press
SA Pulldown
SA seated DB press
SA seated row
DB lateral raise (3×15)
SA Cable curl
Wrist roller for grip 3×6Happy with the progress this week with the tricep, I’m working hard to get the long head working as it’s activation is lagging so hopefully next week I can card in some overhead extension variations

Recovery day today so I got the following done:
Morning 45min walk
1h45min in the hyperbaric chamber (I fell asleep)
Sports massageSpent the rest of the day trying to fix my hot tub which has decide to stop working. Turns out it’s beyond my skill set so I’ll have to call someone in tomorrow.

Great advice from Peter here.
Use join in and cure coming (I love these products)
Train all movements that do not stress the tricep tendon and focus on unilateral movements for a while to record strength levels (this will be important when you start training the tricep again as it will give you a clear goal for your injured side).
Make sure you take the time to let things settle, these issues can become chronic very easily

Awesome session up at Physique Warehouse today.
Way better training my tricep isolation exercises there rather than the barn as the different cable stacks gave me so many options for lighter work:
SA Pressdowns 4×12
SA DB rolling ext 2×12 (negatives only)
SA across body skullcrushers 2×12
SA across body cable ext 4×12Then moved onto legs with a couple of changes as loading the leg ext and curl with extra weight is getting a bit impractical now:
Leg Extensions stack x3x20
Seated leg curl stack x3x20
SL Leg Press (w/band) 135×9 135×33 (DL)
45deg Back Ext 30×10 BWx20
Kneeling leg curl 40×10 20×16
Donkey calf raises 2 sets – don’t like these
Reverse V Squats 100×20 -
Rest day today, morning cardio and an hour in the hyperbaric this morning then a quick trip to Costco for some more food this afternoon.
Tricep is feeling ok after loading yesterday, I’ll have some more light direct tricep loading tomorrow bolted onto my legs session – it’s a classic legs and triceps split hahaha

Great couple of training days for me! Firstly a delayed post regarding yesterday:
Busy day for me got my cardio, work and hyperbaric chamber session done in the morning before hitting this legs session in the afternoon:
SSB Squat 230×10 140×20
SSB Goodmornings 140×10
Seated Leg curl 124×12 98×20
Leg press 475×10 425×20
SSB Calf Raise 75×10 (SL) 75×23 (DL)
Wrist roller (grip) 16x3x6Then today was an evening session as I spent the day fishing (not catching) in the rain. Finally after 10 long weeks I was able to train my right side with limited loads and strict limits. Started off with 30% load for 4×12 on all exercises. On my left side I stuck to 4×6 as per usual:
Pulldown
Chest press
Seated row
Seated DB Press
DB Lateral Raise (bilateral for this one)
DB curl
Cable/Band Pressdowns
Wrist roller 24x3x6Everything went fine with the non direct loading. By the time I got to the tricep isolation work it had had enough. Unfortunately my cable stack is a little heavy for as Pressdowns so I had to start by using a band. I have access to a lighter stack on Thursday. I also attempted some DB rolling extensions but even with just 2kg my elbow didn’t like them. Still got some great work in and having overseen many a first loading session post injury I’m pretty happy with how it went.
I’ll be loading the tricep again on Thursday post legs session

Final rest day of my holiday is complete. Zero training the last couple of days and lived as a normal human which was great.
Normal service to be resumed tomorrow with a legs session then Tuesday I finally get to take my first light steps with tricep work! Can’t wait.
