Exercise variation selection is very individual and depends on the overall programme structure and goal.
Everyone is different, try different lifts for yourself and see what works for you.
For example I’m very much predominantly a free weight trainer – always have been – whereas the majority of the guys on here prefer machines. Same goal of getting stronger but different goals as to what we are using that strength for.

Managed to get a chest session in yesterday before we set off on our honeymoon. Small amount of progress made with more load and lots of reps on incline and flat DB presses and flys.
There’s nothing like a 5 hour drive in a camper van to remind you what body parts generally hurt haha. Settled into the campsite and I’m currently waiting for the rain to subside before venturing out to the coast for a walk and some food.

Sorry for the delay of updates guys. I got married this weekend so obviously no training happened just plenty of food and some drinks off set with plenty of dancing.
Also had to attend with some serious heat in a full suit so had my trusty fan at the ready at all times.
We have a chilled day tomorrow before I head off on my honeymoon on Tuesday
Congratulations, Adam! Where are you off to?[/quote]
Thank you very much. We’re taking our dogs on a tour of Cornwall – hired an RV and we’re doing the tour. Weather looks crap but we’ll manage.

This is a great problem to have! You’re very lucky to have an original cybex hack.
More room for progress and no need to move so many plates about in the gym in order to have an effect work set! Win win for me.

Real good back session today. Usual story with plenty of Pulldown and row variations performed as a giant set.
Had some family over so did some chickens in the smoker which were awesome. I’m enjoying food at the moment but I’m definitely feeling like I want to get back to some structured eating soon.

Rest day.
Walked the dogs for 2.5miles – fitness is pretty good at the moment as is my recovery with the very low intensity training.
In for some back giant set work tomorrow
-
Physio appointment this morning getting into my pec and bicep tendons which we both a little irritated. Also did the usual hip mobility work and trice check up.
Got in the gym for 30mins of shoulders giant sets – 3 rounds.
Rest of the day was spent sorting things around the house ready for the weekend
-
Busy day with wedding and honeymoon prep – plenty to sort with little time to sort it haha.
Got in the gym and trained arms – a giant set for biceps then a giant set for triceps. 4 rounds. Super pumpy.
Physio session tomorrow for some treatment on my pec.

Just go as close as you are comfortable getting.
I’m in the systemic effects camp with BPC 157 so I’m not convinced that localised jabs are necessary.

Recovery is an individual thing. The only way to find out if you can recover from a split like this is to do it and measure your performance in the gym in all sessions – I.e. are you progressing?
Nothing glaringly wrong with this split. Try it for yourself for a period of time and see for yourself.

Relaxed Sunday spent with the mrs.
Went to Costco for supplies – Sunday Costco is not the one! Saw some sights.
Evening dog walk and watched the wales vs Fiji game.
I feel like training tomorrow so I’ll most likely get some arms done.

I training today. Enjoyed a day watching the rugby World Cup.
Walked the dogs early this morning to avoid the heat then it was pretty much solid rugby watching tbh.

So many great flavours available there’s no way you’ll get bored. I’m loving the blueberry muffin at the moment and I’ve got some cherry Bakewell to rotate in

Got all the filming done for the new products at Physique Warehouse today.
Followed it up with some pec rehab. Lots of reps on both fly and pressing movements with light loads. Didn’t feel terrible. I’ll progress this over the next few weeks so that I’m confident when I start training again properly that I can jump back in with what I have planned.
Next up is to try and sleep in this heat – fan is on overtime right now!
