The first part of the puzzle is establishing exactly what you have done before setting a rehab plan.
I would recommend booking in to see a physio to assess you in person. Once you know what you’ve done you can train it effectively and heal quicker.
Until then train around it as much as possible and avoid any movements that cause pain. If direct loading is not possible you can always train your non injured side while resting your injured side.
Supplement wise Join In, Cure coming and Osteo Pro are your best options for managing inflammation.

147.8kg this morning. 50g more carbs added daily taking me above 850g per day.
Felt great today. Cranked the throwing barrier up above 5m today and the bags flew over. Another easy 500 pull on the hummer tyre set up, increased the weights on the medley and reintroduced some atlas stones which felt good and didn’t cause any issues to my SIJ. Very happy strongman right here.
Bag toss – 3×4 (20/20/25/27)
Hummer tyre deadlift – up to 500kg
Medley – 280kg frame, 2x125kg bags and a heavy arm over arm
Atlas stones – several singles with the 140 stone -
Rest day for me. Body feeling much better today actually. Kept my body moving with some bits around the house and an evening walk with the dogs.
Feeling ready to kick off another training week with some events tomorrow

Speed pulls this week for deadlift day. 8 sets of 2 on 305.
The speed work allows me to get more work done with a lighter weight and a longer period to recover from the heavier deadlifts which happen every 14 days. I pull these raw and focus on speed off the floor – a great way to maintain intensity while working on technique and set up.
Deadlift 300x8x2
CG Pulldown 138×6 93×17
Gym Pin cable row 75×10 50×17
SA DB Row 90×8 60×16
WG Seated Cable Row 99×7 72×20
BB upright row 62.5×10 42.5×18 -
Body still sore especially my hips so I decided to take a second rest day today and ensure I’m in a better place for deadlifts tomorrow which is the priority.
Had some massage today which helped a little but I know when I need a rest and my body is not ready for a session.
Speed pulls and back tomorrow

Rest day.
Body feeling it this morning. Hips and knees a bit broken so very happy to have a rest day.
Mental break for me as well as I’m next to the lake fishing for 24hours.
I’ll get up and eat my first meal here before heading home mid morning. Massage booked in at 14:30 then I’ll train in the evening

Another good legs session today at Physique Warehouse. Everything progressing well but my hips are struggling with the leg press loads now. Luckily it’s a rest day tomorrow so plenty of time to recover before deadlifts on Saturday.

Yep another vote for enjoying your holiday. If I’m away and I don’t have a competition looming I just eat like a normal person and it’s great.

Physio session this morning with work on my hips, back and tricep. The medley from yesterday is a proper back killer! Then back to the barn for a pressing session. Also weighed in at 148.1 on Monday morning so the weight gain is going well.
Strict log press 98x5x3
Log press 105x5x2+1
Seated DB press 65×4 45×16
DB Lateral Raise 30×10 20×17
SA Lean Away lateral raise 17.5×10 12.5×20
Pressdowns 59×8 40×16
Gym Pin pressdown 27×6 13×17
Tricep triple set – 3×12/12/12
Bicep triple set – 3×12/12/12 -
Heavy events session at the farm today. Just the two events but pushed the volume on them. The medley for the Shaw Classic was especially nasty!
Sandbag toss – 3 sets of 8 throws 20-27kg
Medley – frame carry with two sandbag loads into heavy arm over arm sled pull. 3 sets – brutal.I then moved a load of kit about to get ready to give the farm set up an update and a good clean. Strongman kit is a pain in the arse to move about.

Spent the day trying to stay cool and hydrated. Body feels ok after yesterday’s training, just some general soreness that I’m used to day to day.
Kicking off another training week with some events tomorrow.

The SBD are great movements. You can of course progress them and utilise them in a bodybuilding programme and they will build you quality tissue.
There are no rules in the iron game. Train the movements you like and build your strength over different rep ranges. Train hard, be consistent and the SBD will bring you slabs of muscle.
I’m not sure where this thinking that the powerlifting movements are not good for bodybuilding came from – probably because they are hard and taxing movements and people are getting a bit soft.
While your young hammer them and get really really strong but most importantly enjoy your training mate.

Heavy pulls feeling good today. Strength is on the up especially as the suit is still loose on me until I reach 155kg bodyweight. Reps felt easy and back is making improvements.

No training today. Body feeling battered. Had massage and felt a bit better, did another food shop and walked the dogs as per usual.
It’s feeling warm tonight I think I’m going to struggle sleeping.
During the summer months please pray for your 300lbs+ friends.
