I squat to warm up my squat…

Sometimes I swing my legs a bit to make it look like I know what I’m doing πŸ˜‰

Smith machine – hack squats / front squats / split squats / narrow (feet together – look up Julian Smith (The Quad Guy) ) squat.
DBs – Lunges / split squats / goblet squats

Increase the volume / intensity – drop sets / rest pause / muscle rounds.

Check out some of Sas’s leg workouts for inspiration too – especially where the leg press is concerned!

    My current intra is:

    20g EAA
    20g Glutamine
    25g HBCD
    5g Creatine

I feel it’s made a big difference in my sessions since starting intra supplementation.

Creatine is not overrated. It is one of the most clinical researched supplements in the world with proven benefits.

It’s cheap and effective, why would you not use it? 5-10g a day. I have 5g pre and 5g intra workout. Notice a difference when I don’t. No loading required.

Yes more red meat will get you the creatine but it’s also far more costly and far more calories. Not ideal if in a deficit. That’s why we have supplements, to supplement our diets.

Why use protein powders? Just eat more chicken…. /facepalm

If you have pre-exisiting shoulder injuries – yes they are bad. If you don’t – not likely. It is person dependent.

Squats – you can’t go too low. Impossible. Unless once again you have pre-exisiting knee injuries.

Now – I have both – fucked knees, especially the right, and recent left shoulder surgery for a torn ligament. (end of Jan – still rehabbing) yet I am back to doing arse to grass squats and full ROM dips.

ROM on dips I tihnk people take too far bringing the elbows right up and beyond your shoulders is not necessary – focus on the muscle you’re trying to hit, once you get that full stretch come back up – usually around 45 deg.

Problems start to occur when people either rush the exercise, try too much weight or are sloppy with form. Slow and controlled all the time and drop the weight until form is spot on.

Ironmonkeywear is what I see all the UK guys promoting and wearing! Custom made and a lot of range by the looks of it.
If you check out the size game podcast I believe they have discount codes available πŸ™‚

60 mins on the stair master? You crazy? lol
Can I ask if you are actually putting the effort in here? Most people I know do half that and are pissing sweat and half dead.

    Are you about to compete?
If not, don’t worry about it, treat it as a cheat and use the calories to fuel your workout the next day.

Enjoy time with your girlfriend rather than worrying about the salt content! πŸ™‚ One meal won’t cause any real damage, any water weight you’ll drop again quickly enough.

If you’re about to go on stage then it may be different but if not, enjoy πŸ™‚

Awesome posts JP! Can’t wait to see the changes with both of you.
I’d really like to see progress shots or videos of your vacuum if possible?! Where you’re at now compared to 8 weeks time with daily practice.

Mpow are decent but a bit fragile – went through 2 pairs. For the cost though, meh.
Using Taotronics ones at the moment, less than 20 quid and doing the job nicely! The only issue I have with them is the length of time from it beeping to tell you battery is low to them dying completely is very very short, so make sure you keep them charged!

Likely going to look at picking up a pair of Gripped Fitness headphones soon though – heard very good things about them πŸ™‚
