    Hi mate

You’ve got a lot going on at the knee, this is more a conventional pull than it is a SLDL

Go take a look at Jord’s vids or Justin Shier.

For me, it looks like you don’t have to mobility to pull a SLDL from the floor, and that’s absolutely fine, lots of people don’t.

It’s resulting in movement at the knee and bulging of the lumbar spine… neither of these things we want.

Set the bar up on some blocks that allow greater positional integrity through the movement.

When you’re watching the examples I suggested, also note the difference between the level of control compared to your reps.

You’re touch n go repping, which isn’t necessarily wrong, but you have to be able to have control over the transition from eccentric to concentric.

    Just my immediate feedback mate.

Hey Rich thank you so much for the explanation.

I talked to Oscar earlier and he tolda me the exact same thing. He showed me a couple of examples of how I should be pulling with my structure.

Next Pull session I’m definitely using blocks and paying much more attention to the thing you guys pointed out.

Looking back at the lift now it really looks kinda stupid and much more like a regular deadlift. But I’ve learned something new and will master the correct technique from now on.

Thanks again for such a detailed reply!🙏🏻[/quote]
Definitely not stupid mate, and you did a great job of working hard through the set so you’re in a good spot with a couple of tweaks to be where you need to be

Not many better than @youngoscar to be guiding you so go make the changes mate

Share a vid of the adjustments so we can see how it’s gone

    Go get it mate

    Delts and triceps ticked off

    IS press
    Cable Y raises
    Cuff laterals

    Stirrup tricep pushdown
    Stirrup overhead tricep extension
    JM press

Everything moved up, shoulders playing ball.

Food prep is sorted for tomorrow, supps ready for legs as well

One feed left this evening, then sleep.

Very good back session this morning

Put my hinge back in, with a narrow stance, which is not something I’ve ever been strong at, so see it as a great opportunity to start a fresh with a movement and build it up.

Body is playing ball nicely, looking forward to shoulders and triceps tomorrow

    Two meals left this evening.

I’m with Clare, take a tiny step either up or down in weight for your loaded set

Getting more reps in on a slightly lighter dumbbell, or the load exposure of a slightly heavier dumbbell will hopefully give you what you need to push on through

    Mixed push session this evening

First half of the session was good but the second half was badly impacted by queues for the kit I needed

Just cracking on with food prep and then my last meal

    Hi mate

First thing I’d be doing is trying to get to the bottom of identifying the cause.

Have you had any injuries on the affected side? Do you “feel” one side better than the other?

Maybe get booked in with a good sports therapist to see if there are any clues as to the cause.

I no think people can get lost down a hole when they start looking at optimising MPS spiking.

I get it, people like to be across the detail, and the theory makes it look attractive.

In reality, you will do well to better 5-7 protein rich feeds a day with a nutrient and energy balance set to your goals.

If longevity is your biggest driver, you might want to consider if bodybuilding is the best fit for you.

There are of course “looks” and classes that demand far less stressful feeding approaches, but this is over-analysis gone wrong.

Good good leg session this evening!

Knees feeling super happy at the moment and whilst I’m keen to start trying new movements, I’m going to stick to the ones that I know are allowing ole recovery and progression

Just waiting for my last meal and then sleep

Rest day tomorrow, then push on Friday

If you like it, and you are progressing, run it to ground. You won’t be able to progress the movement forever.

At the point you have taken all you can from it, switch movements, and repeat the process.

If you are not getting on well with the movement, but you are doing it “just because”, then cut your losses and switch it out.

    Hi mate

I definitely think there’s something in the increased density of stimulating reps in a session.

I personally think there’s more value in doing this with rest pause sets as you get the added benefit of the greater mechanical stress.

You do need to be very aware of the heightened recovery demands though. It’s not a “more is always better”

    Jeeeeez

Do your own reading around the subject, see how many examples/studies you can find of people with healthy kidneys having issues with high protein diets.

You will be rewarded at university for not just listening to everything you are told, but for proactively reading around subject areas.
