Rest day today guys. I have a push session tomorrow and have made some changes that reflect the issues last session brought on – let’s see!

    Today was an annoyance

I’ve recently decided to squat again, today I remembered why I don’t bother

It’s just not worth the time investment it takes for me to get into a position to perform the working sets. I’m not bothering, I’ll go back to a squat machine variation

Then I did some trap bar deadlifts, but because we only have bumpers, there wasn’t enough space on the bar so had to abort.

    In short, shower of sh**

Prime are definitely one of the front runners, but there are a number of good brands, and as Haider says, it’s rare for a company to dominate across the entire range

Shoulders still a bit pissed off from the pressing session earlier in the week so was forced back to Machine OHP as apposed to the Smith I had been making progress on. Shame.

I’ll likely modify my next pressing session into something tame to get them fixed back up

Aside from that, lost a kilo over the Christmas period which I’m not shocked about but am annoyed.

    Attack!!

Don’t JUST look at the set-up. Undoubtedly it’s a very important element, but also look at your movement selection and your movement execution. Both will be vital in securing the progress you desire. More volume is not always the answer, have the movements perfect and then assess

Match the macros you’ve been prescribed to your daily diet

    Be precise

    Be consistent

Once you see how your body reacts, it couldn’t be much easier in terms of process. If you aren’t losing weight/fat, increase deficit by 300-500kcals per day. Stick with that, assess change. Repeat process

As Jord says, you have time on your side. If you stick with it, you have a huge amount of time

    Hi mate

As the gang have said, if the movement hurts, probably don’t pursue it

That said, typically the higher up the foot plate you go, the less knee flexion you will get

I like to push through the back half of my foot and will push outwards as well, “spreading” the floor

If you’re confident that the programme hits your needs mate, it’s a good start

There might be something in having upper/lower for both sessions

For instance here, biceps will only get attention once per week. If that fits the needs of your physique, great. If not, upper/lower gives you more flexibility. It doesn’t mean you have to programme push and pull in equal measure, but it does allow you to build sessions based on need

Press session was a bit of a shit storm today

I felt very strong on machine press but it aggravated my shoulder which essentially ruined the rest of the session – I’m a fragile being.

Couple of days of rest where I will reconsider movements as well
