Very decent push session yesterday, just a little shoulder niggle on the flat machine press, but nothing that impeded the session

Got some work today and then a pull session late afternoon

    Hi mate,

Be helpful to understand the rest of your lower set up, but sounds like you’re recovering and progressing well, so might indicate it’s not the time to make a change.

    Hi mate

I’m not sure there’s much to add.

If you know adding work makes the quality drop off to a point that makes you question the purpose of the sets, stay will a volume that allows you to progress session after session

If you arrive at a place where progression stalls, you then have some figuring out your do, but whilst you’re consistently progressing, I don’t see the value in change

Well truth is the way I said it there’s indeed nothing to add 😂 It was more to make sure I’m thinking this right because sometimes you have that voice in your head that says what if I could do more volume here, because as I said I know I can recover and progress it but on the other hand I know it’s not gonna be quality work so I’m gonna stick to what I’m doing. Thank you!

Good for you mate. Get after it, be relentless, get strong strong 🙌🏻

Very good leg session this evening after resting yesterday

Really happy with how my knees felt and starting to shed the lower back pumps

Push tomorrow, need to be working in the higher rep ranges on tricep isolation work to get my elbows nice and warm

Just sorted food prep, one meal left for tonight, then it’s sleep

I don’t think the biceps part would concern me, the triceps recovery might – all depends on how you’re managing the volume.

Crap session this evening. Just as I’m getting on top of my shoulders, my elbow is having a fit.

Higher rep work to settle it in the coming push sessions

Food prep for the next couple of days and then one more meal tonight coming up.

Rest day tomorrow, then back to legs on Thursday

    Hi mate

I’d say so, an investment that will last you literally forever , and as you’ve identified, the 1.25’s are too big a jump for some of your movements – well worth the investment mate

It depends what your priority is.

If this is something you need to bring up, put it first, and accept that your pressing MIGHT take a small hit.

I’d be absolutely amazed if laterals impacted pulls, and I wouldn’t settle for them having a big impact on any chest focussed pressing either.

Ultimately something has to be first and something has to be last.

    Hi Brenden

The main things for me here would be your movement execution, the rep ranges you’re working in, and the rate at which your strength is increasing.

These along with your recovery will have a big influence on you staying in one piece.

    Hi mate

Definitely see a good sports therapist.

Shoulders are such complex joints it’s really hard to diagnose without a series of screening tests, and where necessary, imagery.

With all of that said, lots of people suffer with bicep tendon impingement, and that would be right on what you’ve described

Definitely stop doing anything that antagonises it, you need to give it opportunity to reduce the inflammation

If it is an impingement, you want to be opening up the sub-acromial space. Neautral or supinated grips will often help, as will shoulder blades back and down (not a big fan of fixing shoulder blades whilst pressing, but on this instance will likely reduce discomfort)

Hope that’s helpful mate, most importantly though, please go and see a good physio. I just cracked on for years and now my shoulders are shot. Look after them.

    Hi mate

Which pieces are they? That’s really unfortunate to have three that are all no good.

Is it definitely not a set up issue?

Does your gym have a GHD?

Very good leg session this evening.

Being very careful with my knees, but they’re really allowing me to get into the higher rep sets, so no having to steer away from failure sets anymore

Resting again tomorrow, meal prep all sorted. Two meals left tonight, then sleep
